Has any of you knowledgeable do-gooders have suspected NSW 1 and NSW 2 team lists after today's outstanding performances.

I really thought Strang played a great game today as well. Quick to the rucks, and just looks constantly busy overall, and is brilliant to watch. Despite the slippery pill, gave some good ball today. Despite Goddard's clear brilliance, and being the clear choice for starting Aus school boys, Strang has definitely put up his hand for back-up. Any other year, he may have been in the starting spot.

Interesting as the growing ability and skill of the ISA and CHS players grow, the nsw 1 and 2 team are dominated by GPS boys.

It's a typo. Blaise Barnes had a very good game for AAGPS 2nd XV today.

Agreed, I can't help but root for him. For someone of his size (height, his body is fairly built), you just have to admire the heart that he possesses. His step and speed is a force to be reckoned with.

You're kidding.
You better check the results they don't suggest "growing ability" - bigger margins than last year in all of GPS 1s and 2s games.
It would be a tragedy for the sport if people are permitted to use the pure numbers as proof of bias. People need face some cold hard facts.

^^^ I thought that the last 3 years AAGPS teams all played a higher standard of rugby than this years AAGPS team did, not by much though.

With only one game in the lead up to the final trials day, AAGPS teams are normally going to look like a little under done.

The way the selections work, and by all accounts it appears to be the same this year, they choose 1-15 in NSW 1, 16-38 in NSW 2 and 39-46 in NSW 1.

As unfair as it may seem, it is the way that it is and has been for ever, the NSW 1 Bench players are chosen last but get the 1st XV title.

There was no ISA-GPS I match up IS and in the absence, ISA 43-CAS 10 was not a million miles off GPS-CAS performance. Hard to tell without a head to head, but there's at least some support for ISA feeling a tad put out with only 2 starters in NSW I.

There's some surprises there no doubt & one ISA boy in 2s took my breath away. The CAS team that played GPS was supposedly a better team but I accept there no necessary correlation.

Was at the trials today and was just amazed at the class difference between the divisions.

Being an AICES follower i was happy with the improvement shown by this young division. They lost two of their best from last Sunday(Fuimoano and Yarham) yet most of them gave it a red hot go against ISA II. They were outclassed eventually with simple defenesive lapses off inside balls from ISA II and poor kicking from AICES causing most of the tries.

CCC number 8 was unlucky to not be even a shadow player after the game against CAS II but i guess he wouldn't have been so effective against higher quality opponents.

ISA I were great to watch against CAS I. There backrow was simply destructive and Goddard is just pure class. I thought CAS would be stronger but they looked well beaten and overenthused.

GPS II was a complete mismatch in the backline with the winger and fullback regularly stepping either around or through the poor CHS wingers. Every time they touched the ball GPS were on their way too scoring. A 52 - 17 score flattered CHS and it could have been easily 80+ if GPS hasn't butchered so many chances.

GPS I was more of the same and the only things preventing GPS scoring 60+ was simple errors and the referee caning them in the penalty count. CHS 1 tried hard especially in the forwards but they were way out of their depth.

Maybe in would be better to have ISA 1 vs GPS 1 as main game next year - that would have been closer and an epic match.
