Thanks for that Chosen. looks like I'll be spending a bit of time at Knox, one of the best spots to watch rugby in Sydney.

Just to be pedantic: this thread should discuss likely selections in NSW teams, the trial games, and then the actual NSW selections.

Other stuff like play in the Oz Schools tournament and the selection of the Oz Schools teams should be discussed in the Oz Schools thread.

It's pretty obvious but sometimes posts are mis-directed.

Hopefully chs have a numerous amount of players picked in this years nsw squads. With the likes of Wessels, Broome and Northam returning they look like having a good chance.

Some good players returning. Any good ones coming through? Any from the sports high schools?

there is a kid at randwick boys high already earmarked for the australian 7's program. He will be playing for the lloyd mcdermott side (instead of RBHS) at the schools 7's in april. Zane is his first name, only small, but reminds me of a younger brendan williams (who at school and under 19 level was untouchable)...

Another year, no joeboys. Just ain't NSW schools rugby anymore

And only one from that other traditional rugby powerhouse, Shore. Come the final selections I reckon a few'll scrape in from Hunters Hill and Northbridge.

Deleted a lot of irrelevant crap from this thread. Please direct your comments to the appropriate thread please (ie if you are 15 and want to claim Joeys will win the Premiership then do it in the GPS thread).

can we please talk about the schoolboy team for 2011 as i think we have taken this thread a little out of context. the obvious selections and dark horses for 2011 and the standouts for each comp such as gps isa cas chs , etc

no name has a point.

I have moved items pertaining to NTS and rugy politics to a separate thread where those interested can discuss the matter without choking this NSW thread. Queensland members are also interested in the matter, if last year is any benchmark.

Please don't mix a NSW Schools matter with NTS/rugby politics stuff. Most of us can comment on whether a player deserves to be in a NSW team or not without reference to his NTS status. For example: I have no clue who is in NTS.

If posters feel they can't separate their comments on NSW Schools and the other stuff, put everything in the NTS/politics thread. And without sly side comments in this thread by the usual suspects please. By all means: you could state in this thread that you have made a comment about rugby politics on the matter in the other thread, with a link perhaps, so folks could click on it, if interested.

Just a reminder: all comments on player scholarships should be made solely in the scholarships "Sticky" thread, and not slyly mixed in with posts in other threads.

Is the red headed Newington open side flanker Mark Baldwin still at school ????
If so, I reckon he'll figure in the mix somewhere.

He is and he is playing well. But there is some very good competition around. Jack Walters (Scots) has muscled up considerably in the off season and looked sharp when i saw him play. Gordon Broome is also back for another year. As well as that there is Harry Randall at Kings and Dempsey and Whiteley at View (all 3 played NSW 16s last season). There is also Pat Kennedy from Alos who has loads of potential but has been very unfortunate with injuries for the last 2 seasons. He is currently injured again.

Baldwin, Broome and Walters would be the pick but you never know with selections given that they are often very political and some of the selectors clearly have zero idea or just believe whatever rubbish is spouted to them by one eyed biased coaches (or NTS staff)!! Whatever happened to picking the best players and the lads who are in form regardless of where they are from...

Will be another interesting year that's for sure.
