NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2011

there is a kid at randwick boys high already earmarked for the australian 7's program. He will be playing for the lloyd mcdermott side (instead of RBHS) at the schools 7's in april. Zane is his first name, only small, but reminds me of a younger brendan williams (who at school and under 19 level was untouchable)...

I played against and with some Wallabies, League stars etc (im not anyone of note) however Brendan Williams was probably the best player out of anyone by far.

I would hope that anyone with half the skill doesn't throw that talent away like Williams did.

BTW what is AICES i've got no idea.

How many chances is Pappa going to get???!!! Don't get me wrong i know he has a good pedigree but he hasn't exactly covered himself in glory the last two years! Last year he got his wish to select his own team and look what happened there! Time for some new blood at the top me thinks...

Does it really matter?
The coach gets a squad that he may or may not agree with, trains them for a few sessions.
How much do you think they can teach a squad in a short time frame?
Winning these tournaments has much more to do with combinations,luck, injuries and in a lot of cases just goal kicking.

The best outcome for NSW is to have Pappa sit at home and not be anywhere near the selection table.

And so did many others ILTW....and for good reason which has been well documented. If, as you suggest, there are independent selectors, then that is a big improvement from the fiasco from last year.
