Re above, the recent thumping by New suggests otherwise. All these players were together in 15s and didn't make much difference and that included Hutchison. Problems are with the forwards not backs.

The ‘Wesleyan Collegiate Institution’ was established at Newington House on the banks of the Parramatta River at Silverwater by the former home of colonial merchant and landowner John Blaxland. The College opened its doors on 16 July 1863 with 16 students.

The need for a larger and permanent home for the College resulted in the current Stanmore campus in Sydney’s Inner West. The Founders Wing designed by leading colonial architect Thomas Rowe was built between 1874 and 1880. Seventy boys and four theological students moved from Silverwater in July 1880 and the new school, now named ‘Newington College’ was formally opened on 18 January 1881.

Just quickly would like to make special mention of Alex Barker (i hear his nickname is 'scrubby')
this kid is seen constantly seen with a ball in hand and also it is rumoured he used to weigh in at a whopping 95kg when he was only 13. Clearly hasnt lost all of it yet as his gut is still carrying a bit of extra 'muscle' so to speak
But seriously i believe he will be one of the quiet achievers this weekend for the view 1s and will set up the match winner with a trade mark snipe down the blind side and give a short ball to Molloy to score in the corner

Tom played on the wing last week at Shore and had a solid performance. But at 15 he should see more ball and hopefully show everyone what all the chat is about. Agreed, should be a great afternoon of footy at Hunters Hill.

That was a tight match with view spending much of the last 10mins on the newington line, not downgrading the new team, I just think many are underestimating the view 16s

There is conjecture that Newington College actually started in 1880 with the first students taken from the ‘Wesleyan Collegiate Institution'. The intent of the Wesleyan Collegiate Institution being what is important when they started their school. The name Newington was taken from the building/house name that the Wesleyan Collegiate Institution occupied. [please remember like most of history many of the 'facts' are open to interpretation, i have used research and publications from 1950-60s rather than the more convenient history written in this century].

Which is why I don't use wikipaedia.

lt was in the chill of a raw July morning in the year 1863 that (to quote the late Dr.Ellison) "19 miserable boys met together inone of the large rooms", of Newington House. That was the start of the institution now known so well and favourably all over the continent as Newington College.
