Ahhhh Random2, we meet again.

Nice post i do agree with Tevita. My younger brother played against him last year and rated him as an excellent addition to Joeys, should be good to see him develop.

Any others from Riverview, New, or Scots?

Wolf Out.

I hear the likes of Conor Menzies, Henry hutchinson and the fiery tongan 'hosea' will be hoping to make amends this year together in the opens for view, would be great to see how they go.

Have they published a date for GPS I, II and III selection trials, and GPS U16 Selection (Presidents A and B) trials yet?

He will be there for the beginning of the season with Newingtons first game against Oakhill. I look forward to see his progression from last year, hes put on a lot of size and will be a hard man to tackle. Could be one to lookout for.

when is this game expected to play, there is a very good chance that he will not be able to participate in the contact leading up to this trial. Are there any chances for Zac Robetson, seen as a potential 4th XV player but has his off season training done him any justice to achieve this admirable result??
Lets have no crap talk on this forum please, no degregation of the players or anything like that . Be intelligent or leave.

All posters need to remember that these are just school boys - 15 to 18 years old! They can also read these forums! They are playing school sport, not for sheep stations!

unfortunately some of them have......but it should give them guidance or confidence in some instances to know that they are worth attention at least from the majority of the old boys on the forum. they have put in hard work over the off-season and it seems fine to me that we can be critical or judge players in a positive or truthful manner. state your case. cut the crap. and the let players that play know the helpful truth before the mental health rates start to rise!

"a simply misspelt word inside shoulder, perhaps i should go back to school. I did mean "degradation" wolf

I don't think so
degradation may occur to these lads if they play as much rugby as hugh Jarse would have them but most a healthy and growing and repair reasonably well. The degradation usualy starts after they turn 40 when the arthritis starts and some of the vagueness as a result of too many hits to the head

Sticks and stones might break my bones (degradations)
names might hurt a bit (denigration)

unless you are being poetic !

How many of the schools have named Trial first XV teams? I know there are still athletics people to come back

I don't think that there are any GPS I, II & III selection trials as there haven't been any in recent years. Selections will be made on performances in the games leading up to the GPS v CAS and GPS v CHS games. These teams will probably be announced on the night of Saturday 15th June as the games against CAS & CHS are in the following week. Looking at the 2013 GPS draw (see link below) the selections will be made after only one external trial and the first two round games!! Not a lot of time to look at all the players methinks. I expect that the selectors will already have a number of rep GPS players from last years Opens who are still at school pencilled into spots especially those that played for NSW or Australian schools last year as well as some of the stars from last years U16 Presidents teams.

The U16s Presidents teams do have selection trials but as the NSW U16 Schools Championships is not held until late June these trials have been held around mid June in the past.

Who else will Newington be playing in their trials. Oakhill will be an excellent opponent having beaten Augies last last year. Kinross having been regulars for a couple of years, any chance of some CAS teams being featured in the trials, apart from Trinty who are becoming increasing less effective as opposition. Or is the standard of Newington rugby just getting better. I like to believe its the latter.

The match against Trinity for the A J Rae Shield is set down for Saturday July 13th at Stanmore.

There may also be games in the mid year holidays against a visiting team from Tonga - Tupou College.

Thankyou Mr CTPE

Anyone else got an opinion on the other schools? I think this is a great template for anyone else to respond. Anyone with insights, particularly with NEW, View and Joeys would be great.

Wolf Out.

Newington:

1. Established great footballer: Tepai Moroea - distinguished season last year and well deserved representative honours. If he can get a good share of the pill he will be a standout again in 2013.
2. Rising star: Josh Mitchell (backs) and Stuey Mill ( pigs). Mitchell - strong & skillful - will be a good asset to the New backline. Mill ( 2nd XV Best Forward 2012 ) is a tireless worker, breakdown specialist and can play 6 or 7 ( even 2 at a pinch!) and has developed his all round game exceptionally over the last year. Both from last years 2nd XV.
3. Ist XV Rookie: Sepesa Loga-Tarogi is an outstanding prospect from last years U/15's and could make the grade in the 1st XV at wing or full back - Matt Hood will be hard to replace but Sepesa has the talent to make an impact. Elevated from JGS ( Eastern ) to NGS!

Cheers, Wreckless :)
