So who knows what height/weight OPL actually is? I know he's huge for a school boy but to say there won't be men his size in Colts/ SS got me wondering.
About 190cm and 115kg's??

Ellis played inside centre in 2010 alongside Tepai when he was in year 9 I remember watching almost all their games. He has been there since year 9. Oscar will keep getting bigger, all the talk about him only being good is kind of funny because size is a huge factor in rugby. I don't think, come a few years, there will be many men the size of Oscar in Colts and possibly the Shute Shield

This may sound stupid but anyone think he would be any good @ playing 8?
hahaha rightio then mate, count 9 imports. ellis abraham is on a full scholarship and was brought in from newcastle in year 10. and as i quoted about opl, o'reagan, ahosivi, they are ridiculously overated and are not stand out players. yes they got selected for gps but in the 3rds or reserves which is not exactly spectacular. i agree that matt hood played for combined states and he is the only player out of that list that is actually a good player, but to say any of the others are good is a bit of a joke. oscar is not a deserved australian a schools player, he is only in there for his size, and as i have said multiple times before in my posts, size tends to get you very far at schoolboy level. i will be very surprised to see him next year in a high colts team or grade team as he will be singled out rightfully as players will have filled their sleeves just as he has done since year 10.
the season is over....its the talk of the town^^^^ Discussed to death on the Scholarship thread. Best to hunt over there.
Speaking of big units, anyone from New know the size of Tyrone Taukomo and what position he plays? I've heard he's only 13 but tipping the scales close to over 90kg on top of which he seems to have some speed.
He won the GPS 100m, so yes has some speed.
Having seen him next to some boys I know are about 75kg, I'd guess he's around 100, sounds crazy for a 13 year old but he's tall and he's very heavily built. Anyway, he's too heavy for 13's. And Bradley's not far behind him. The rumour on the sidelines was that Tyrone was hitting the weight limit for 14's and was about to be forced up to playing 15's, though I'm not sure what the weight restrictions are, if they exist.
Nicely lowering the tone there DM. No good ones @ Stanmore?Should there also be a "best looking helpers" criteria for best BBQ and best canteen. If so, I nominate Scots. Can't beat the sight an Eastern suburbs milf to warm your cockles on a blustery Sydney morning
There are no weight restrictions. And whilst he is enormous now he will struggle as he gets older as he developed nearly to his full potential in primary school. He is too used to running over the top of people and now that everyone is catching up to him he really is finding it difficult
Looks like Jason Reilly is also a successful rugby master. Canberra Grammar won the ACT U18 Premiership this year and the 2nd time in 70 years! The last Triple Colour winner at New before Lachie Turner was actually Jason Reilly in 1988. A Champion Swimmer, rugby player, athlete (shot put and sprints) and rower (rowed in Winning VIII). He was 105kgs and still ran the 100 in just over 10.5s. He ended up playing for the Qld Reds and in the Varsity Match for Cambridge and is now Rugby Master at Canberra Grammar.
Came from 6 to front row, so speed is the dominant factor, which therein effects workrate on the ground etc. So whilst your question may sound stupid to you, believe me its not. I think Tim Rapp had to do something this year. It paid off. As man others have said Prior is a good schoolboy player, the mark of him is will it translate to seniors? This may sound stupid but anyone think he would be any good @ playing 8?
As above^^^^^^^He played at 6 his whole career up until this year so he will probably make his move back to that position
Are you saying there's 13 year olds that are 75kg as well as manboys like Tyrone and Bradley? It wasn't that long ago that kids wouldn't hit this size until 15 or 16 (ie 75kgs). Perhaps they should bring in weight restrictions like they do in the suburban comps. I was a winger weighing in 55kgs/181cm when I was in that age group. Even the forwards in my age group then were no bigger than 70kgs or 75kgs maximum. Hate to be playing in this age group now.He won the GPS 100m, so yes has some speed.

No I was referring to under 13s (ie year 7/8).75kg's is seen as lightweight in U15's competition IMO, as a forward
What the hell are kids eating these days?Tyrone plays up in the 14's.
Plenty of boys in that age group are 5'8" to 5'10" and I'd guess one or two in most teams are nearing 6 foot. And yes in the A's and B's 75kgs wouldn't be unusual for the taller boys.
