Departing from reading about the Newington/King's imbroglio (aren't Newington parents the most gracious hosts? It's always a pleasure going to Stanmore) and getting back to Joeys not winning this year/thrashing everyone next year, get a grip fellas. Joeys win more than their share of rugby matches and on the odd occasion they lose the boys and staff are universally praised for their excellent sportsmanship; for disappointed Old Boys to say "you may've beaten us this year (which doesn't count) but we'll flog you next year (which will)" is impolite and petty in the extreme. Riverview won in 2011, congratulations Iggys.

The 2011 GPS season isn't even over. Why is pressure being applied by way of expectation to the kids in any of these teams for next year?

New v Kings

Not sure what game Blindside watched but Newington 1sts won ugly. They just haven't jelled all year. Oh and it's a Wyvern, not a dragon. Kings were awful in all open grades which surprised me. Agree with ON85 that Kings discipline was dreadful in not just the 3's but 2's and 1's as well. I hope the Headmaster was there and takes action on a contigent of boys who threatened to give a fine school a very bad name.

Dear Try Time,
New haven't jelled this year and this is very frustrating for their supporters. Yet they ran up 28 points in decent time against a fair opponent. They didn't look like losing at any stage.
And a Wyvern IS a breed of dragon - originating from Central Asia according to folklore.
Cheers
The Blindside

Some recent posts on GPS Sydney 2012 have been transferred to a new thread - please use that one for next year and this one for this year. This may mean that you have to split up an intended post into two.

Thank you.

Im a little confused by a few posts here. To clarify, can someone tell me who won 2nds, 3rds and 16As premierships in 2011?

1sts, 2nds, 3rds, 16As, ppfft, who cares. Let's get the most important result up here: who won the Spaghetti Cup?

With View as premiers, and having the bye this weekend, does that leave New and Scots on equal second ?
So if Joeys beat New and assuming Scots will beat Grammar then Scots will finish second ?
Also, has Kings won the sixteens or do they still need to beat Shore this weekend ?

Ah yes but Grammar has provided more Wallaby captains than any other school[/QUOTE]

Not to mention the chairman of trustees is the World Cup winning captain, and recent Australian citizen

How do you figure that? Scots beat New. So New have lost 2 havent they? With Scots only losing one?

If any more Joeys boys want to come here and clog our boards with mindless shit we will block the Joeys IP and no-one will be able to post anything.

This is the first and final warning.

New v Joeys

Both the New 13A's and 14A's are playing for GPS Championships against Joeys on the weekend. Both sides are undefeated in the GPS Competition and have only lost 1 game - the trial match against Joeys - all season. Should be two cracking games on the weekend.

Can't wait for this crop of youngsters to come through in around 2014 and 2015. The 13A's are particularly impressive, having run up cricket scores against all their opponents including 70-0 against Shore and 105-0 against Grammar.

Sadly the SJC 12th XV didn't win it. Hardest working team in show business though did put on some sparkling displays at times and their HUGE win over the Scots 8th XV was the season highlight. It looks again that the Joeys 9ths will retain the trophy. The SJC 9ths vs SJC 10ths game should be a good one if played but due to wet weather it was called.

Does anyone know how the Riverview 10th XV went against SJC on 13th Aug?
