Interested to see this 'strongest all-time 1st XV out of all Australian schools', not least because according the the Wiki page of notable Old Sydneians, Grammar 1st XV has produced exactly ONE Wallaby (Jack Maddocks, 2017) in the last 67 years.

Before Maddocks you need to go back to David Emmanuel in 1958. Grammar claims Julian Huxley (2007) on the back of Huxley attending their St Ives prep school, but he went to high school at TKS.

In the vast majority of cases Grammar's Wallabies were capped nearly 100 years (or more) ago, so it takes quite the imagination to claim they have the strongest all-time 1st XV.

Geez they just scraped through in 1988, as the score was 6-3 Joeys to View. I don't know if school got closer to beating Joeys that year?

Sydney Grammar has a wealth of young talent coming through. The Grammar 16As are better than the twos and pretty much on par with the ones. From what I heard, the 16As beat the twos 61-17 in training and lost to the ones 32-30. This just shows the quality of the young ones. Also a little fact for you, this current 16As team is the only team in GPS history to go 3 years undefeated. Watch out in 2027 comp

Maybe if the boys from Grammar were not playing in the C comp, this would actually be impressive. The Grammar 2nd XV is also playing against the 5ths and 6ths against any other school, so it would not be that hard to defeat them in the 16a's. The only comp that would have to watch out for the 2027 prem is the 3rd XV comp. In no time do I see them advancing and actually being good enough to compete in the 1s and 2s.

Not certain on this however I've heard that Hamilton has left Shore rugby. Unsure if this is due to selection or other purposes.

Hamstring issues. Should be back for round 2. Fingers crossed...

I think it is due to constant changing of teams. E.g getting a run on for the 1s then getting dropped to the 3s. I think if he re joined he would certainly be solid in the 2nds.

It's a real shame if that's the truth thought he had a good impact in the teams he was apart of

I agree. But the mental impact of jumping between teams can't be good for their rugby, same goes for Cowdery.
