NSW AAGPS 2025

Looks like Shore are looking to endeavour on their next expansion project.

"Shore has recently lodged a planning application to add 450 students and 45 staff. It is also planning three new buildings, including an extension of the campus onto the Graythwaite site, a heritage-listed former private home and former hospital."

Via the Sydney Morning Herald.

I've been told this will include a Hawker Stand expansion to accommodate the Blue and White Army's new ranks. I can't get into specifics but the spokesperson from the relevant Shore planning committee hinted that "Hawker Stadium" might be a more appropriate name. Couldn't be more keen to find out what the next era of shore footy will bring.

Nothing quite like overbuilding for the 1 in 100 year event.

Haven't you been told: don't believe all that appears in print! Today's news; tomorrow's fish & chip wrapper.

Speculating positional aspects is fine just not entire teams.

Ok then, to keep the students active, respond to the following.

Name your schools following.
Potential Best forward
Potential Best back

Make your your nominations can be traced back to high grade team and not one of your mates

I will start, I nominate Ghattas (Hooker) and Gough (fullback) for Joeys.
School following Shore
Forward; Clout
Back; Callaghan

For obvious reasons...

Very early thoughts on GPS 1 side for this year. Not sure if 6,7, & 8 are in the right spots, but I would think all 3 would be in the site. Couple of positions that I see it very even and could go either way.

1. Lavercombe (K)
2. Ghattas (SJC) or Smith (K)
3. Sheck (N)
4.
5.
6. Fanua (K)
7. Taumoepeau (SJC)
8. Lemoto (S)
9. Grover (I)
10. Large (S) or Sawyer (K)
11. Makasini (N)
12. Gough (SJC)
13.
14.
15. Bassingthwaighte (E) or Palmasani (SJC)

I would hope that Callaghan secures the 15 position, especially after his performance during last year's GPS games. With Bassingthwaighte aiming to return after the second round of fixtures, will he have enough time to reclaim his spot? Additionally, I definitely see potential for the 14 position. Brody Folkes (I) could be a strong dark horse candidate, along with Conna (I) for the 2 position and Galligan (E) for either the 4 or 5 spots.

I thought the players contracted to league were ineligible to play, including Lemoto, Large, Makasini, Bassingthwaighte and Callaghan. Similar to why Rodwell couldn't play last year.

They can play. Just only GPS games they cannot be selected in the next round (Schools). I believe Rowell and Humphries opted out as they saw no point.

I think @the player may have also mentioned it, apart from obvious choices, who do you think has the potential to be the best back and forward?
Potential.

I see the great upside (at least at Shore) in Sidwell (Forward) and Robertson (Back). Sidwell is a powerful ball runner, and if Shore's forwards want to be anywhere near the 8-ball this year, he will need to do some heavy lifting. The improvement needs to come in defence. Shore will need to slow the ball down fundamentally. They just cannot allow the likes of Risati, Palmisani and Hart to start running wild with the ball in space. Kill kill kill. Robertson is a good Field Marshal. He wheels around and gets the pieces in position. There does need to be an improvement in kicking and defence though. Not required to have the greatest presence in defence, maybe some agility and movement work would help him. Bassingthwaighte's kicking game improved from round to round, and Shore ultimately got it at the end. That's what I would think. Lots of upside, im sure Tim Wallace and co. are working hard on it.

Footy Talk Here,
What do we think of the speculated lineup for St Ignatius this year. Keen to hear your thoughts

He's cast the line, will anyone take the bait? Ahh classic reply fishing, not the first time that's been said. But I will take a nibble, Here is my predicted ladder
1. View
2. Joeys
3. Shore
4. Kings
5. Scots
6. Newington

controversial list but i believe the rowing school will get up for first and I know scot's don't look on the team list like they will come 5th but i just don't see them beating anyone in the top 4.

Now, boys it is my turn to 'cast the line'. Thoughts on this?

Ahh, an account made in February talking about "not the first time that's been said", what a surprise it's school time? Classic. Bold ladder, but history says rowing strength doesn’t always translate to VIII wins. Scots at 5th? Spicy take—sure you’re not fishing yourself?
