So this week we have the Catholics belting each other at Heaven's Gate while the Anglicans do battle at Stirling Bridge. That's somewhat mischievous scheduling by the organisers. The lesser Christians will have to satisfy themselves with a battle for the leftovers at Stanmore.

I wonder if the respective archbishops will be in attendance at Hunters Hill and Northbridge? And, will they be required to issue the last rites? Or hear confessions?

The list is a great effort by a great contributor who compiles it in a short timeframe. Produce your own list if you don’t like it.
View are deserving premiers and have conducted themselves brilliantly. Perhaps a few of their online supporters could learn some lessons from them. Objectivity can be challenging in the teenage mind.
No, it was utter tosh, as was this post. A teenage mind indeed. Comment, banter, opinion, points of view.

The Archbishop of St Joseph’s College (@Joker ) will be in attendance.

Can also confirm that Pope Francis is coming out of retirement to watch it go down. Word is, depending on his health he may be storming the pitch.

Could this be Scots Mascot for 2026.....getting rolled out at home games.

"Who on earth would buy a two-metre-tall stuffed camel? For more than a decade, shoppers at an Alexandria antique store have asked this question, craning their necks and staring up into the glassy eyes of Michelle, a balding, 50-year-old humped beast with a price tag of $13,000.

The answer, it turns out, is eastern suburbs private school Scots College.

The beloved mascot of Mitchell Road Antiques in Alexandria – a full-sized, taxidermy camel, adored by the community – has finally found a forever home, after it was purchased by the college to be placed inside its $60 million John Cunningham Student Centre."

Love the AI images.

A genuinely captivating weekend of footy coming up. Nic Ninths included.

Obviously it would be higher drama for the crowd if the Riverview 1s and 16s hadn't already won the comp, but there's still a massive opportunity for Joeys to remind everyone who the big dog in the room really is. I imagine that the Joeys firmament are more than relishing the opportunity to let a little air out of Jesuit balloons :D

And not always indicative, but given the 16s results next year might be a reasonably competitive year for Riverview as well. Interesting times!

3rd XV Round 7 Preview
What a finale we have for this 3rd XV competition as the two undefeated teams – Joeys and Riverview – clash at Hunters Hill for the premiership. Joeys last won the 3rd XV premiership in 2019, and Riverview last won in 2022 when they shared it with Kings. Both teams have demonstrated excellent form throughout the season and are ready for this premiership clash on the best rugby field in the country. In the remaining fixtures, TAS travels for the final time this year to play Scots, Shore hosts Kings and High hosts Grammar.

Joeys 3rd XV v Riverview 3rd XV (1:00pm on SJC #1)
Two undefeated teams clash for the premiership. They both have size, speed, try-scoring ability, and rock-solid defence, so this match is likely to go down to the wire. It will be an amazing contest and a worthy finale for the 3rd XV season. I was there in 2018 when Riverview won this premiership undefeated and then in 2019 when Joeys were undefeated in all grades. Now in 2025, one of these teams will raise the Col Windon Shield again. My prediction, of course, is the Cerise & Blue by a converted try.
Joeys by 7.

Scots 3rd XV v TAS 1st XV (11:15am on Scots Main)
TAS last week guaranteed at least a share of 3rd place by defeating Kings, but they are out of the premiership race due to losses against Joeys and Riverview. Scots scored their third win of the season last week against Grammar in a close tussle. Both teams have demonstrated ability this year. I think TAS are coming good at the right time, and I expect them to consolidate outright 3rd place with a win at Bellevue Hill, but it is always a tough match away in front of the local Scots crowd and bagpipes.
TAS by 7.

Shore 3rd XV v Kings 3rd XV (1:00pm on Northbridge A)
This is the final match for two teams that promised a lot early in the season but unfortunately did not get the results that they wanted. Kings have three wins from six matches and Shore have just two wins. So, this is largely for the honour and the opportunity to finish the season with a victory. I believe that Kings have been closer in their matches to date, and I think they will prevail over Shore in this final fixture.
Kings by 7.

High 1st XV v Grammar 1st XV (1:00pm on McKay Oval)
Another important finale for the 3rd XV competition in the Battle of the Selective GPS Schools. Neither team has been able to win a competition match so far this season, and one of them will get a chance here to finish the season with a victory. High showed great courage against Joeys last week. They are not scared of the contest but need to get on the front foot with their attack. Grammar got close to Scots last week so are also improving as the season progresses and would fancy their chances here to score a victory in the last round.
A draw is not out of the question.

Good luck to all players for the final round of the season and especially to all the Year 12 boys playing their final rugby games for their schools.
