Comeonmate - get back to the classroom or do some study, HSC is soon.

I watched most of the SHORE games last year and they deserved what they achieved. Like Billy Burmingham said (Google it mate) geewhatawanker

Call that a pitch invasion???…THIS IS THE GOLD STAR.

Well done View. You are going for the championship title next week. If not then Premiers. Take it from a Joeys boy, we have 37 of them.

Congratulations once more. A triple premiership of rowing, rugby and Rhythmic gymnastics

Championship? They lost in the first round so unfortunately that is off the table for them.

Notwithstanding that in a year that CAS beat GPS and IAS was very competitive would have loved to have seen a Barker v Riverview game.

Barker went undefeated in Australia (including pre-season against Canberra, Joeys and Shore) and today's Barker v St. Augustines game (effectively the CAS/ISA decider) was a great watch (on replay on NSW RugbyTV)

(I say in Australia as Barker did lose games at the Japanese Sanix tournament in the holidays)
Why are you so desperate to see a combination of CAS and GPS? The GPS boys have their comp, you have yours. At the end of the day it should be up to the players if they want to play each other, and from my experience many boys rather play the current system of 10 rounds than 5 rounds GPS and 5 rounds CAS. I can understand from an entertainment and competition point of view, the benefits of having a larger number of competitors. But from your sportsmanship in the Sanix tournament, we'd rather you stay away.

Determining the "greatest" SJC (St. Joseph's College) rugby team is subjective and depends on the criteria used. However, some teams stand out based on their achievements and historical significance. One notable era is the late 1980s, when the school achieved a remarkable undefeated run. Another strong period was the early to mid-2000s, with multiple Premiership wins. Ultimately, the "greatest" team is a matter of opinion and personal preference among SJC rugby enthusiasts.

Factors to Consider When Evaluating SJC Rugby Teams:
  • Undefeated Seasons:
Teams that completed seasons without a loss often hold a special place in the school's history.
  • Premiership Wins:
Winning the top-tier competition, the GPS Rugby Premiership, is a major accomplishment.
  • Individual Player Achievements:
Players who went on to represent their state or country can highlight a team's strength.
  • Overall Winning Percentage:
A high win percentage throughout a season or a series of seasons indicates consistent performance.
  • Era/Dominance:
Certain periods might be remembered for a particularly strong team or a string of successful seasons.
Examples of Notable SJC Rugby Teams:
  • Late 1980s Undefeated Team: This team achieved a rare feat of going an entire season without a loss.
  • Early to Mid-2000s Premiership Winners: Several teams from this period won the Premiership, showcasing a strong program.
  • Note: It's important to acknowledge that different eras may have different levels of competition, making direct comparisons challenging.
Me.....this one is my strongest, the 1939 team.

Im not sure what Cave you live in mate but they won the Premiership last year .........
Yeah I said CONSISTENT not just a one off good year - i.e. not going from wining outright to not winning a game in the 10 game comp or any trial game the next year

In 2022, the came 2nd and won 70% of their games that season but in 2023 they only won 2/10 games in the GPS comp

They haven't proven they've been able to put together consecutive good seasons

You’re somewhat contradicting your argument. I agree they havnt been consistent in the past but in the past 3 seasons on the whole it has been decent. I know they are 0 and 9 right now but it’s not like they are just giving games away, the other teams are still having to work for them pretty bloody hard aside from the fixture at Kings.

I think you should meet @Ace Ventura. He is the superman of the AAGPS statistics.

3rd XV Round 6 Report
Well with just one round to go in the season, the 3rd XV premiership is the only premiership not decided. Congratulations to Riverview in the 1sts and Joeys in the 2nds. Now those two schools will battle it out on Saturday for the Col Windon Shield and the 3rd XV premiership. It will be a titanic match on SJC #1 at 1:00pm so get there early for a good seat. Round 6 saw some close margins with wins to Joeys, Riverview, TAS and Scots. With just one round to go the table looks like this:

Joeys, Riverview 12
TAS 8
Kings, Scots 6
Shore 4
Grammar, High 0

Riverview 26 d Shore 12
As expected, the Riverview 3rd XV continued their undefeated run with a win at home against Shore in terrible conditions. They now face the undefeated Joeys side next week at Hunters Hill for the premiership. It will be a fantastic match. Shore, the 2024 premiers, have had a disappointing season with only two wins from six matches. They host Kings next week in a final hit out for 2025.

Joeys 74 d High 0
Joeys also remained undefeated with a comprehensive win over High at Hunters Hill. I thought High fought hard for the entire match and were extremely committed especially in defence. There was no score at all in the first 10 minutes, and Joeys led by 24-0 at the break. Joeys ran away with the match in the 2nd half, piling on 50 points in 25 minutes, but it was a very determined effort from High the whole way through. Joeys host Riverview for the premiership on Saturday while High host Grammar in a clash to avoid the wooden spoon.

TAS 17 d Kings 12
The travelling TAS team cemented at least a share of 3rd place in the competition with a good win over Kings on JS White. They would be very pleased to score another win and are improving with every match as the competition progresses. They travel to Scots for the final round while Kings travel to Shore to finish a season that started with great promise but has unfortunately not turned out as they would have wanted.

Scots 12 d Grammar 7
This match result was much closer than I expected so well done Grammar to push Scots and get within a try. This would indicate that Grammar have also found some late-season form which will come in handy for the final round against High at McKay Oval (assuming it is open). Scots will host TAS for the final round and that should be a tough encounter for them to finish the season at Bellevue Hill.

St Augustine's beat Riverview earlier this year so crowning Barker as NSW Champs technically.
