I believe Joeys holds the record for NSW 1 team reps (7 in the 1sts and 5 in the 2nds).

Oh come on, guys, no need for all this gloom. CAS wins every so often, and this was one of those years. Plus, GPS still got 9 players in NSW 1sts to 6 from CAS - imagine how many would have been there if GPS won!

that kind of proves the point, incumbency / form is the Australian way.

It is all volunteer.

Craig is the only coach in the AAGPS that has had modern experience as a forward and specifically scrumming and lineouts. He played as a Hooker for the Waratahs about 3 years ago.

Wallace put together an unstoppable backline last year that was the sole reason for beating the CAS.

Not the coaches fault when there is a lack of heart and passion that the CAS boys had.

Perrett and Craig played together at Eastwood and Perrett has more pro experience. Very good player who should have seen a lot more pro rugby but Aus was stacked with backrowers.

Never been sold on Wallace myself. He’s been around how long for one good year? Few talented players had the influence IMO anyway.

I think there’s a lot of carry on tbf and nobody likes to lose but CAS got it done and good on them. They’ll win more in the future as well as they have in the past and we’ll do the same convo. I hate losing but also enjoy the fact the selectors rewarded form over just being a name even though some still got there for that.

Shore's problem has always been systematic lack of quality players.

From 2012-21 that is what haunted them.

As soon as they got the stars they needed and lined up two good age groups in a year, they won in 2024. Coaches job's are always hard without the players there.

For the GPS, selecting a team then getting them to play a completely different shape to what they have been drilled all year with different people makes it difficult always. You could see they were not on the same page and lacked a bit of heart that the CAS didn't.

I also think there were definitely some selection errors that need to be looked at and how the teams get picked needs a review as well. Shore and Riverview are the two best well-coached teams in the AAGPS. Surprised the Iggies coach didn't get a run at all. Maybe he did not volunteer.

But I think its wrong to point it at coaching when some of the on-field performances probably let them down and not the system/structure.

And bloody good blokes as well. For such a talented team they were very humble (generally!!!) and great to have a beer with. Injury crulled a few more potential Wallabies out of this cohort.
