NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

Coaching and selection.

GPS 1 front row sacrificed for GPS 2 front row in NSW selection, but the poor blokes in GPS 1 had nobody pushing behind them with a scrum full of bloody star loosies. The constant and predictable pick off 8 was also frankly embarrassing. When you pick three 6s who can’t jump or scrummage you are always going to hurt. I put that down to selections and reputation.

In the forwards with the notable exception of Dempsey the work rate was also incredibly low. Again the lazy star player effect of guys who only have to do a couple of power runs a week for their respective sides while everyone else does the actual work.

Outside of Grover the backline looked a shambles. Again a bunch of big blokes who offer exactly the same power running game getting in the way of themselves and the backline. The Newington stars completely looked lost out there.
Mate, are you really serious? Or do you refuse to see past your beloved View side? Please don't be ridiculous. GPS1 #2 AND #3 sorry but they were.... (DESCRIPTION NOT APPROPRIATE)! There is no other way to put it.

I don't think it's right to label any of the boys as "pathetic" that's more than a low blow, and it seem you've had issues with that particular selection and have made your opinion known multiple times. No need to demean anyone else's view on here, as always we need to be open to debate and critique with nuance, but that kind of blunt characterisation is childish and unnecessary.

Deadly.

Putting Justice, Fonua and Lemoto in the same side was stupid. None of them jump or scrummage. They all offer the identical game. And they played badly, as did the Newington heavy backline who played like they’d just met 5 minutes before the game.

#2 also played badly, it not helping having exactly one target in the entire lineout - not hard to disrupt.

Selections. Just because you have three “good” number sixes doesn’t mean you should select them all in the same side.

Noted mate. More childish when people cannot see past their own noses. But you are right...that was childish...comment edited.

Fonua does jump, he is also the lineout caller jumper for the Kings side.

justice and Heinz play similar but realistically having them two in the side didn’t cost them anything.

the question is how does the team running dead last (shore) have their school coaching our GPS 1s?

Surely one of the leading GPS teams coaches would be chosen to coach, why would you choose the team that's 0 and 6? Good individual players but no cohesion amongst them...
It is all volunteer.

Craig is the only coach in the AAGPS that has had modern experience as a forward and specifically scrumming and lineouts. He played as a Hooker for the Waratahs about 3 years ago.

Wallace put together an unstoppable backline last year that was the sole reason for beating the CAS.

Not the coaches fault when there is a lack of heart and passion that the CAS boys had.

I think the coaches come from the previous years winning side. Shore won in 2024 hence they were the coaches

Because when you have 9/15 injured players including 3 that would have played GPS 1sts and 2 for Aus U18s it is hard to win...
