NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

Here for the advice

Some crack squads there but some mind blowing selections. Wonder which boys opted out as a few names missing who are clearly top class and a couple of names who are lucky to be in their 1sts. Let’s focus on GPS toppling the others !

Spora can count himself unlucky to not make 1s and could overachieve from that 2nds side. A genuine line out specialist who is also extremely effective around the park, A disruptive jumper who can turn games and may be a victim of big name-itis re: Selection

Where's the beef

Joeys Shore:

The Pie:
Joeys Pie is good rather than great. I rate both Shore and Views pies as better. Pastry a bit soggy and the meat not as good. Service is with a smile which is nice.

The Boil Over:
The much Vaunted Joeys second XV is no more. They lost their 7 and 10 to ones. It has made an impact. The last 3 games are nowhere as fluid. As for the game yesterday, Shore worked very very hard, their outside back defence was incredible. There would have been 10 times when it looked over for all money and try saving tackles were made. The referring was with out doubt the worst I have seen. Joeys were penalised off the park and most of it was utterly a Joke. Joeys as they have been all season were dominant, on their feet at the breakdown something for which the entire season they have been rewarded for. This guy, would have none of it.

While Shore got an enormous leg up from the ref, they also took their chances and each time the went into the joeys 22, they scored points. So, credit is where credit is due. They took their chances.

The last play of the Game Joeys should have won it. They had the entire backline waiting for the ball and shore was nowhere to be seen, but they kept it tight and again to shores credit were held up over the line.

So we go into the break with a Joeys side who has had 2 narrow wins and a narrow loss in the last 3 games. They have some work to do as other teams will have the belief that Joeys can be beaten. Well Played shore.

The Battle of the Cellar Dweller
It was entertaining and Shore were by no means blown away. However, for the first time this season the Joeys forward pack was dominant. That dominance gave the space needed for Fin Hannon to do his thing and in his style he was everywhere. Because of the space, The joeys 13 had a field day and was very dangerous. The scoreline was a fair result of the game. There were a few nasty looking injuries for both shore and Joeys so I hope the are not too bad and heal over the break. Again Shores outside channel defence was very good. A number of times you thought Joeys would be in for all money only to be cut down in try saving tackles.

It was a good game, played by two teams that are dangerous but unlikely to threaten. Joeys, can do damage in the back half of the season, so other sides will need to be wary. Shore as well if they can get a pack that works. I thought the twos pack from shore outpointed their ones one.

Beef Out.
