This fits with my perceptions after watching the high matches. All three tas open teams were sharper than last year. I couldn't judge against the top Sydney schools so the Joeys match was a critical hit out. It's normal for tas to start the season slowly because the boys don't have access to the same level of preseason competition as in Sydney.I was at the game. Joeys came from behind in the 2nd half to win by 24-18. They just wore TAS down in the final 25 minutes with very efficient play and were probably a bit more match fit. But TAS played well - they have some outside backs with speed and some big forwards. I expect that they will trouble some sides this year, especially at home in Armidale.
Given the various issues with the forum last week, I was unable to publish my usual round 1 preview and report, but I plan to recommence prior to round 2 of the 3rd XV competition which is Saturday 14 June.

Will be interesting to see how this propagates through the ranksMassive news for Shore 2XV with Henry Sherington (7/8) out with an ACL tear for the rest of the season. Best of luck to him in recovery and hope to see him back on the field.
Could they make a run at the top this year Jim?This fits with my perceptions after watching the high matches. All three tas open teams were sharper than last year. All the Joe Boys will be at Scots on Thursday for firsts & seconds as usualWill SJC get a bit turnout at the Death Star on Thursday? Obviously it is compulsory for the Joe Boys to attend every 1st XV game and with a much win game for them this weekend, will they consider giving the boys an early mark to go and support their school? Same with TKS, what is the prediction for their crows on Thursday?
love your signoff @RuckReporter . may be a year out of date though !Will be interesting to see how this propagates through the ranks

As I said, Joeys is cancelling all classes after lunch and forcing all boys to Scots, meanwhile Scots is doing the norm and only cancelling the last period, will be a tough one for scots...Will SJC get a bit turnout at the Death Star on Thursday? New to the forum, but thought I would give my 2 cents worth. Should be a good game , but backing view in this one. Shore coming of a devastating loss and still without galligan will not help. Although during the 2023 long weekend riverview did lose to shore despite being heavy favourites with the likes of grover and dillon.the bridge

It will be difficult. They need another team to beat sjc and then tas win all their matches. A more likely outcome is that tas will come in at 2 or 3. But who knows?!Could they make a run at the top this year Jim?
Despite a challenging season overall, Shore 2nds have showcased an outstanding lineout, one of the clear highlights of their campaign. They achieved a 100% success rate in the lineout during their weekend match against Newington.Grover hands down - game management is second to none and maybe best in the GPS. Galligan similar to Sidwell in presence - so missed for sure but not to that extents if Grover was outs.
Shore 1 and 2 line outs functioning well. but they need to choose better their long ball - why throw to the back where it’s 50/50 when you have front and middle jumpers in both teams who are winning theirs and stealing others! Too many over throws on balls to the back which are that are less effective. They also have a solid scrum options - but miss his bulk to bend the advantage line.
You do a great job commanding them MMM.Despite a challenging season overall, Shore 2nds have showcased an outstanding lineout, one of the clear highlights of their campaign. They achieved a 100% success rate in the lineout during their weekend match against Newington.
That has got to be immanent, as they are the only school for compulsory attendance for all games. Any other information on schools letting student out early. From what I know, Newington and Riverview are stuck until the final bell.Joeys look to be the only school letting students watch both the 2nd XV and 1st XV, quite disappointing. Would love to see these Thursday games similar to the south African schoolboy rugby.

Kings years 10-12, have the option to catch a bus from Kings at 1:45, meaning they would most likely get their around halftime of the 2nds.Joeys look to be the only school letting students watch both the 2nd XV and 1st XV
