NSW AAGPS 2024

Hey all,

Does anyone have info on the younger Kings age groups - interested to hear how they travelled last year and if anyone thinks that 2025/2026 might be in the question for a solid Kings team.

Thanks,

Anything from Joeys, Kings, Newington or View?

I know that Newington is playing Scots in the first week at home, what else? Or do you guys not find out until later?

Are any schools starting to play internals yet?

I believe scots will in the coming days but not sure about other schools.

I know slightly off topic but huge congratulations to joeys for taking out the Major Rennie on the weekend. Good moral over the school should hopefully produce some class footy!

News from Hunters Hill...

Pat smith ( a fast footed 5/8) who played in the 15A's, younger brother to 2nd XV veteran Bill Smith has been called up to the 1st XV this weekend and will be forced to leave his mark with J Fowler out with injury. The young prodigy also has a younger brother who is fresh to the college and is reportedly "keen" to tear up the footy field.

Will this change be permenante after a great performance???

Time will tell

The change probably won’t be permanent either. Fowler will return to play in a few weeks. Young Smith is good but shouldn’t be rushed, vs Barker this weekend is probably a good chance to see how he goes.

Found this video from one of the U18s NSW games. Same boy that filmed for King's last year.

Is that recently posted? If so that May 4 game will have been changed again from Scots v Newington.

Also, as of today, Scots are playing Cranbrook on that Scots 7s day, but maybe that u16 fixture is against Newington as well?
I would say the Scots 7 normally is Scots 1stXV, plus 2nds and a separate sevens comp for the 16 age group, all other Scots team play the Brook.

The Scots 7's first team is barely ever the actual 1XV team, a lot of the firsts are in it but mainly people who are good at seven a side rather than 15. For example, Joey Medina played 5ths-3rds but then played firsts for the Scots 7s due to his speed and agility.

Does anyone have a predicted kings lineup?
Coming off the back of such a strong team last year, you can only guess they will be detrimentally weaker, and building for 2025.

I’m liking this Scots team, I think Shore and Joeys can get in and give them a run for their money though. Has the injury to Large been confirmed?
I think the Shore team is their only real shot, especially if Fowler is out for the next couple of weeks, because that will cost the Joeys backline a lot of prep time, but generally I agree that Scots look like the team to beat. But we never know until we hit the 1st week of GPS comp, as some teams float and some sink.
