Secondly, I believe he has been playing with an ankle injury a lot (probably through league) & it's gotten to a point where he needs surgery. Apparently, he could play with it for this season, and debated doing so, but chose the right choice to get the surgery and rehab out of the way now.

New backlines could be: (names in bold could be swapped around between the teams)

Heinz at 12 is a scary thought. a Heinz, Fittler combination takes me back to the Moeroa, Milne Newngton combination which was lethal in their premierships in 2012 and 2013(joint with Scots)

Expect the top talent from the Kings 16s to play up in Opens as a pretty weak talent pool in classes ‘24 and ‘25.

I’d rather them call Jude Gibbs up for a Tahs pre-season who has gone through a couple seasons in the shute shield.

If the Tahs needed cover for Edmed, Bowen & Harrison when he’s back it won’t be Walsh getting the call up. It will be someone like Gibbs.

Plenty of Shute Shield players were involved in Tahs pre season who won’t see a minute in an ideal world. Including the FT squad 50+ would have been involved at some stage.

Pretty common for the top age group players to train with pro squads in a lot of sports. Costs nothing but gets you front and centre in their mind.

I know its been a while since I've posted..haha..but i'd have to say, with men like Michael Achie and Lachlan Brown in the projected First XV for St Josephs, they are looking in form and could be contenders for the premiership this year!!

Been saying this for a while now. One of the more talented players I have ever watched, his year 11 season at St Joseph was astonishing.
