NSW AAGPS 2024

New day, new opportunities.
My predicted or preferred, 1st XV GPS forward pack.

1. Lavercombe (K)
2. Warner (E)
3. Harvison (E)
4. Fonua (K)
5. Arthur Greer (J)
6. Johannes Logan (J)
7. Marshall Le Maitre (E)
8. Taumoepeau (J)

I believe Fonua at 4 is better, so Taumoepeau can go in at No8. Just a thought. Feedback would be appreciated. Cheers.
Interesting. Is there a reason as to why Brial (S) and Osborne (I) don't make an appearance over Harvison and Fonua? Perhaps a reshuffle to fit Brial in over Logan?

Cheers,
Schwenny

Founua over Brial is, in my opinion, is highly unlikely. Brial has made a very strong case to be selected as captain and I think at the very least he has more than proven he is a good enough footballer to be selected. If Fonua was to be selected as a lock he would be replacing Greer. Considering this I believe that Taumoepeau will be playing president, and Fanua will be playing at no 8.

I highly doubt he will play president's when he's currently the best No. 8 in the GPS.

Last week I talked about the Mackellar vs Duddy matchup in the Shore 2nd XV, this week there is another big storyline coming from the same game. Shores backrow will be stacked with both Hugh and Gus Reardon. The brothers originating from Moree but have taken different paths to earn their 6 & 7 jerseys. Gus (yr 12) has played firsts all year but finds himself in the 2nds and will come out with a point to prove, Hugh (yr 11) has earnt his place in the 2nds through pure determination and hard work, coming all the way from the 16Bs last year. A great moment for the family and good luck to them both.

All signs point to Taumoepeau as the 8.
Completely Agree. Don't get me wrong Fonua is a great player and amazing rugby specialist, but Taumoepeau was born for the game, his sheer will and dedication is unmatched. He is one of the best schoolboy No8s I've ever seen, and definitely earned a spot in the GPS 1st XV. Hope it all works out for him. Cheers.

I would personally argue that the difference is minimal between Taumoepeau and Fonua. I think it is in the better interest of the GPS to select Taumoepeau in the President's XV and Fonua in 1s GPS creating better depth thought all teams.
In my personal opinion Taumoepeau is far ahead of Fonua, Fonua just cant compete.

Fonua definitely can compete, and no way should anyone rule him out for No8 in the GPS 1st XV side. They are so close and matched in skill, but I believe in this close battle for GPS No8, Taumoepeau might just get selected over him. Open to suggestions. Cheers.
