I don't mind having Siteni on the wing. As long as Daniel Wright gets the ball quickly out from the rucks he will be involved with the game, and be a player that scots will certainly have to worry about.
So who is playing @ 11, 12 & 13???

Due to previously expressed interest in lower age teams' performance, why don't we publish a comp table for 13As & Bs, 14As & Bs, 15As & Bs and 16As & Bs, beginning with this 1st round? What say you?

A good friend is very happy to put it together for us. This then will be shared right here,

What is needed for this to work is a "champion" from every school (do we include High and Grammar?) who can send me the results for the weekends game.

The sad fact is that newsletters with weekend results are not public information anymore at most GPS schools websites.
Joeys still has public access to results last time I checked. Any others?

If you would like to nominate yourself to reliably report the results each (comp) week from your school, please let me know.

What are your thoughts?

NOTE: Doing it for any grades lower than As & Bs might be a bit pointless due to not all schools fielding teams consistently.

The argument that Le Bron was already turning professional is a straw-man and the conflict between amateur school boy football and the professional game is an aside. We started considering higher rep honours in one professional code for a player who has already committed to another professional code. As per the thrust of my original comment, the school associations have no obligation and will pick whoever they want, however why would NSW or QLD provide opportunity to a player who has already declared defection? I can think of no professional situation where an employer would provide opportunity or incentive to an employee or potential employee who has already said they are going in a different direction. Why should this be different?
I think we are in agreement here .. I was talking about school rep sides …. State / national sides under the ARU can do as they please

Hey joker,
Happy to do kings, all parents and majority old boys see scores for every team around Monday/Tuesday so would easily be able to do this. Happy to give a game review on matches of 16As, 2nds and 3rds as well

Hi Joker

Hard to get anything out of New Rugby as far as junior scores. Not published as far as I know and unless you are at the games, no other reports.
Not sure who could do it. Dusk ?

A long overdue addition. If any body follows English Schoolboys Rugby, their school sites have a format where all teams are covered. For instance, I like to follow Wellington College. So Sunday morning I get to see teams, form the 13Es to the 6th XV have performed.
If anybody is interested, choose a Rugby playing school in the UK and assess either the school site or the schools site for a variety of English schoolboy Results.

Hi Dusk

Just saw the team list for Sat.

D.Wright is back at 10 and J.McGregor shifted to 15. O.Townsend ( Captain of Rugby ) fit enough to play, 10 for 2nds.

D.Wright's first game back from injury in Trial 1? McGregor hasn't done much wrong at 10 and will be ok at 15 but S.Taukomo could be wasted at 14 if doesn't get involved or enough ball?
O.Townsend should be 10 or 13 in 1sts if he is fit enough.

Forwards are ok. Hope they worked on their set pieces.

Thoughts ?

Who is Captain if Townsend still in 2nds?

The Question of the Year ? I always thought that if the Captain is fit, he should be in your 1sts. Tell me a time when your Captain of Rugby is in the 2nds. I hope D. Wright has a great game and New win tomorrow. But, New's coaches/director's overcomplicate things.
If Townsend is not a permanent fixture in the 1st's ( and obviously he is not being considered ) then why have him as Captain ?

To answer your Question : DUNNO !!!

Dickens is obvious choice. Great player well respected and humble. Third year in 1sts. As an aside Newington had a Captain of Tennis (also Senior Prefect) who played 2nds Tennis.

It has been said before, but the question still stands. WHY does the GPS pick 4 rep sides, when comparative associations like the CAS pick 2. It is ridiculous, either you qualify for the top 2 teams or you don't, sounds like everyone is a winner in the GPS.

The reality is, the poor few GPS boys who miss out must feel pretty ordinary, and those that makes the 3rd and 4th REP team, I can't believe I just said that, are pretty much finished re further rep teams after they play the rest.

Mind you, I hope those teams who play the GPS 3rds and 4ths get some benefit. If so, why isn't there, 3 GPS rep teams and 3 CAS rep teams, that would make more sense, given both associations have only 6 teams in their comp.

Look forward to the responses!
So that those lower GPS teams can have games with SJRU, CJRU, CHS etc. it's good having that many teams.

For games at Newington i can post a picture of the scoreboard but that will really only include the 15a's and 16a's. Like you said, no match reports are posted unfortunately.

The thing that is a bit weird to me is that to me personally I think Oliver Townsend is a better inside center than Edward Barton... So why he isn't playing in the firsts this week is a bit odd. Edward Barton is still a great player so either one could play really. Aside from that, Oliver Townsend is a very nice guy and in my opinion is a great face for newington rugby.

Is there a reason behind having a Captain of Rugby or any other sport who may or may not play 1st’s???
