I'm sure, but you spoke about the time when "There was a time in 1981 when we won a certain game with a field goal that ice-cream suddenly appeared... " so assume that you were at Joeys in this era. When you said, "the important lesson we learned from our coach Br Angelus" I am trying to remember a Br Angelus from the same era. I can't recall one...?
I graduated with Peter Tonkin.
When did you finish?

Ok, 1981. I finished not long after. Still trying to remember Br Angelus from Joeys about that time. Remember Spick, Pudgy Bear, Moose and Spot, even Kate Reading, but not Br Angelus

Does anyone word of how Joeys main is looking? Scots main was perfect before the rain but as not good now cause of the games/rain. It should be looking good next week as there are only 3 games on it this week 13A's, 13B's and 13C's. Also can anyone post fixtures for Knox and newington?

Br Angelus worked in the library with Mrs Simons but loved his rugby. Those brother sound familar. We had to deal with Ding, Stiff and Snake in 2nd form. Then mang, custard and spick....the names are flooding back. The nastiest was Johnny Mags who ended up going to jail. Archie was the hardest but fair. If he punched you in the head you deserved it.

Moose used to sit in the library on tuesdays and just........Watch. Jimmy Hargreaves was good for a long sermon. Don't recall Br Angelus either. Had jonny mags, br michael green twice, shags, and spot twice. Archie sorted two blokes who had a fight on college B out by coming to dinner in a bow tie and cancelling late night study because the form was going to watch Mr X an Y finish their work in the ring at the gym. He kept them going long after they both wanted to stop. Funny night that. boxing gloves and all.

it was common knowledge that there was a community of brothers at the College. When I started there were over 40. Not all taught or had dormitories. Does anyone recall the deputy heads nickname?

Joeys main is its usual pristine playing surface. Lovely for running rugby..

Ok, a bit of Joeys intel extracted after buying very expensive shout at the HHH last night.

A couple of days ago Joeys were looking at naming an unchanged team after last weeks return to form game against Knox. However, with flu still running rampant through the place, halfback Hwi Sharlples is out, and prop Jack Barrett is in serious doubt. Both are clearly key players.

Injured backs Joey Fowler and Will Malloy are still out, but replacements Ben Playford and Miles Minto were both outstanding last week and back up in the 10 and 14 jerseys. Second rower Eamon Doyle was carried off last week with a dislocated kneecap, however there must be something special in the holy water in the chapel, as he has now been cleared to play. After debuting in the 12 jersey, flanker Patrick Young will stay in the backs following a promising performance in attack and defence last week.

A great game is on the cards. Scots will arrive with a point to prove after Kings took their chances and defied most tipsters last week. They will play percentages and try to utilise a direct power game with a focus on set piece, mauling, and kicks to the corners supported with strong ball carriers across the park.

Joeys will try to work their way in behind Scots forwards before shifting wide at every opportunity where Ronan Leahy and the two Jorgensen’s were outstanding and ran riot in attack last week. Based on previous performances this season, Scots are likely to score about 20 points (and Joeys are averaging conceding about 20 points a game), but the question is will Joeys be able to score more?
Lovely day out here at Joeys. Ground is in prestige condition, perfect conditions for free flowing rugby. Late news the 10 for Joeys is playing in today’s game. Huge inclusion to the match. My prediction- Joeys by 21. Good luck to all teams playing today
