The Ghost of Raelene

only other school I’ve ever had a problem with was Scott’s, sadly untill yesterday I had furly enjoyed the men from the east but, after seeing parents abuse the kings 16As boys after Scott’s had just lost I was pretty disgusted. These kids stayed calm but heard one of them say “go have a cry about it on green and gold” thought it was quite clever”
That is an outstanding retort.

There are garbage blokes in every group. Especially when in a group and with a bit of Dutch courage. I personally had items thrown at a team I was in walking to the change rooms at Hunters Hill prior to a game by Joeys old boys.

Not dismissing bad behaviour but I can’t be bothered reading more about these clowns when we know mates from all schools and I think 99% of people leave games having enjoyed the match and had a good time.

I cannot fathom why any parent(s) - regardless of what school they send their kid to - would decide to abuse their sons opposition team - either during a match, or afterwards.

Was there foul play that wasn't dealt with during the match? No way is this an excuse for bad parent behaviour, but might be a reason...

Has there been bad blood between these two teams over the previous years?

I will say this again. A strong or undefeated 16As means nothing for the 1st XV. A lot changes in those two years. Ever year there is a kid in the B's who grows or gets a yard faster. There is always the Marist kids from Newcastle (ah hum Joker, I am thinking Ben Kennedy here) so just like the Waratahs each year. Don't believe the hype
Ben Kennedy, a fine Joeys boy...

For most of his school days in country Casino, Kennedy was a "midget, tiny". But he shot up and after "mucking up" and being a brat at 17, he was sent off to boarding school. At St Joseph's College he found what stirred his passion.

"I'm an emotional, passionate guy, and one of the first things I went to was a regatta, and I'm not even into rowing, the whole school went, the whole school was singing and the songs they sung, how loud they were sung," Kennedy recalls. "The whole school spirit was unbelievable, and that's something I embraced and I am so better off for going to that school. It shocked me in a way. How proud and passionate and emotional these kids were. Shocked me in a really good way. It was great for me to see, and then I got involved in [playing rugby] . . . it probably did make me into the way I am now."

You must off missed the 2021 Joeys vs View trial which View won quite easily in the end and where up by 20 points at one stage. Think View ended up putting 40 on them.
au contraire - I think you must "off" missed the real story of View-Joeys trial game on 29th May 2021.

For those who don't recall, this was the final trial round of the ill-fated 2021 season and Joeys were still experimenting with their lineup and systems in preparation for the upcoming season. View caught Joeys napping in the first half and skipped out to a 28-0, 4 tries to nil lead before Joeys woke up and started playing some footy. They clawed back the lead one try at a time and actually drew level at 38-38 and 6 tries to 5 with one minute to go, before View scored a turnover try in the corner against the run of play to win 45-38 and 6 tries apiece with nothing on the clock.

It was great display of how to chase down a score and the Joeys coaches were delighted at a great hit-out. The team were champing at the bit to meet View in the "real" game where they had no doubt they would show their real capability. Unfortunately the season was called off after just one comp game where Joeys beat Newington 38-13.

To say "View won quite easily" is not only a bit delusional, but not reflective of the facts.

It’s quite delusional too not say the same about riverview. It was a TRIAL match, both teams were experimenting pal. Joeys weren’t only school who were experimenting in a trial match. Also quite ignorant to leave out the fact that both O’Donnell (the best Aussie schoolboy of 2021) and Bowen both got injured in quick succession around the time the score line was around the 28-0 mark. It would’ve been a VERY easy win if those injuries didn’t take place.
Kind Regards,
GCG.

....just like the Riverview pump-up video's.

Mind you they are very slick and well made.
Personally I reckon they could use some real pump up music

Maybe try this. Has a school theme too
Back when music was fun and kicked ass.
(you want to crank this)

Without poking the bear too much. The wind was the largest factor that day. Joeys were into it first half, riverview had to face it in the second. Pretty typical view game. first try was hard, those that folled were easier. joeys could have easily been ahead but were not clinical at key stages as they broke views defense at will. Both sides had people out, both sides lost people on the day. view deserved their win. joeys buggered the kick off receipt and view scored. A good trial. Would have been a great game at HH.

Have been to one Back to Newington Day in my time and it was… eh. In all my days going to reunions etc. I can’t say that I’ve ever had as much fun at any quite like I’ve had at View-Joeys (not this years). I think all the old boys here on the forum will agree that you are going to enjoy your own alma maters big days. Meaning that your post is quite ignorant Lindommer not quite sure how any one day can be the BEST.
Please specify!
But Newington is one of (if not the only) school that organises stalls close to the firsts game. I have not seen any other school do something similar to what Newington does for BND.

This is very important to consider. Riverview was also experimenting, and View had the two Australian schoolboys in our team out when joeys managed to "woke up" - coincidental isn't it?

Additionally, just remind me who the GPS regarded as the winner of that season? (Yes, I know it wasn't a full season, but enough games were played to get a good idea, trial or not).

First prize for silliest comment of the season, congratulations.

The AAGPS didn’t consider any school to be the winner, there was one round of the comp.

I know that some wag circulated a mocked up notice of the AAGPS 2021 premiership being awarded to View, if you fell for that and all it’s grammatical errors…. Well let’s just say you need a course in critical thinking and reasoning.
