Will u be there this Saturday at BH J?
With bells on. I have not been back there since 2019 when my youngest son played in the Main. I was so proud to see him out there.
I stood with my old friend R. Heritage and watched as my boy smashed anything that moved.
I have not witnessed a 1st XV game at the College for many years (missed 2018's miracle). Last one was 2012.

Spot on, he was the next Dan Herbert for mine and a significant loss to Australian rugby

Thats right, he was groomed to wear the #13 for a while - if my memory serves me well, I believe he had a serious knee injury in the early noughties that stopped his progress with Wales

I still remember him carving up defences when wearing the #13 for High at Mackay Oval

Agree. He could run straight and hard all game.

Thats some great footage there, didn.t Nathan Grey carve them up at will!

As for JJH, he had that unique running style - for such a tall man he appeared to run low to the ground; probably gave him that extra zip he had

Good to hear - if I head down there we should meet in person!

Thats a shame, I like his no nonsense defensive style, and he would have kept the Joeys backline 'looking for him' on Saturday..
Yep, putting aside whatever else people thing, he is a great great talent and plays some exciting footy. I believe he covers the opposition kick very well, something Scots struggled with Against Newington and Joeys. Hopefully he gets some more footy season. I'm not sure how serious the break is. He's always a generally nice bloke around the school.

Yes he has been heavily criticised on this forum, and undeservedly too; such a good player with a very bright future - regardless of the code he decides to play in long-term

No idea. Like yourself I bleed cerise and blue but still have after all these years a soft spot for the College. In my career there I taught many, many fine young men. There are so many that I continue to see and catch up with. I believe these lads helped sharpen my banter skills every rugby season when the Joeys game came round. I enjoyed 13 seasons of rubbing their noses (only so gently) in it. I did have my car rubbished, shaving creamed and wet toilet papered on 4 occasions.
Heard it might be a broken collarbone but not sure. I’ll see if I can find out tommorow.

If I can digress, Marc Stcherbina, his schoolboy team mate also played for the Waratahs (42 times according to wiki) and also ended up in the Welsh rugby system. Must have been a bloody good backline at High in 93.

One of these lads was a school produced player who arrived in year 7 and played his way to the 1st XV.....can you guess which one?

(Famous photo from the 1993 $cots v Joeys game....photo was on the wall of the old home change room) Great game.
