Finally, good leadership requires a Team Captain to respect, his players and opponents. Calling them Girls might sound Macho, but take it from an Ex Australian Army Soldier in the Reserves as well a former Officer. It won't earn you any respect ,whatsoever, in fact the complete opposite will occur..

Reminds me of this moment. Leadership: Take a Stand, Make a Difference or Move On

Odds on View just got shorter. Big loss. If only we had Azzuri around to confirm.

My operative inside the Kings establishment has confirmed the information.

Well said B&W,

GPS rugby has changed in its perspective of how to play the game, from who can breed the biggest bull to now who can have the quickest toe and the sharpest minds.

TDO.

Agreed TDO, well said B&W. Joeys and Scots will both be difficult to defeat again this season, maybe not impossible, but certainly a challenge.

Great to see 5 GPS schools so close and I am hoping Rod MacQueen can restore Shore's rugby Mojo to make it 6 in the near future.

Coaching is only one piece of the puzzle.
Player recruitment is Shore's Achilles heel.

The popularity of the school amongst a particular demographic means that their enrolment process will only ever draw from a very narrow social group. You almost have to complete the enrolment forms on the way home from the maternity unit. It's nobody's fault and I don't know what they can do to change it, but it effectively restricts the diversity of the student body in so many ways.

Predictions this week a little more straightforward:
Order of how teams will finish also becoming clearer.

Scots by 20
Kings by 10
Joeys by 50

My predictions for the season:
1. Scots - too big and strong in the forwards with backs now firing.
2. Joeys - gallant, busy and fit...........but lacking in size, we have seen their best early and they will increasingly struggle as other teams improve. Second a good result for them by overcoming a competitive Riverview.
3. Riverview - competitive but just falling short in key areas.
4. Kings - great talent on paper but injury plagued and missing their mojo.
5. Newington - fitness again a key factor. Good for 50 minutes then fade badly against the fitter sides.
6. Shore - what can I say. Difficult to see the 2019 team scoring a win this year but they can always turn it up on the day and surprise us all. I will never forget the scare they gave a very good Scots side in 2014 at Bellevue Hill.
Hard to disagree with any of these comments :)....................................you heard it here first.

I feel as though this is a stretch, it will be an extremely close match up as both teams having plenty of momentum behind them.

Will be a great rematch from preseason [21-21], and it being a fairly low scoring game, things will play out very similar with the Iggies drum banging against the bellowing bagpipes of the golden lion.

Anyone else agree? 20 is a bit much...

TDO.

Wristy is a proud Scotsman and will always talk them up. In addition, he also has a knack of calling margins pretty well. 20 for me though is a bit much. As stated earlier, I feel the weather will have an impact. If wet, the Scots forwards should dominate and it will be a low scoring match. Fine, dry weather will see a more open game with the View backs using all their speed and cunning. The Scots backs have started to click which will make it more even. Hence, we are back with the piggies who I feel will decide the game. Scots to win but not by 20.

I am though camped at Hunters Hill this weekend supporting my boy plus a good mates son who plays for Shore. I hope there will be updates from Bellevue during the game. Brumbies and I will endeavor to bring you the scores from Rowers BBQ at SJC. BTW we do an awesome "Rower" burger. Steak, sausage, onions, bacon, egg and more bacon.....mmmm bacon.

I agree. It will be won in the backs as the forwards aren't that menacing. Shore forwards went toe to toe, it was the backs that did all the damage . Mossman is a very good goal kicker. He scored 24 points on his own including 2 tries.
