Sorry, B&W that was St Andrew's Cathedral School. They took the kids that even Newington rejected back in the 80's

Well when it comes to St.Andrews, Joker, you will not get an argument from me. Recently, their Headmaster Dr John Collier had to write to parents about their behaviour and attitude towards teachers at the school. Apparently, some parents were expecting Teachers to behave like Slaves. Clearly, at St.Andrew's Money doesn't buy class, as the school has a nasty component within itself who can best be described as "Cash Up Bogans". Yes all schools have them as exemplified, by the behaviour of some Scots Old Boys you mentioned a couple of months ago.

But at St.Andrews apparently it's an issue. I attended an interview in 2005 and was told about how one parent sought to record interviews over the phone in order, they be given to her lawyer. Hardly, gentrified professional Middle Class behaviour.

Any news how your 14As went, they were an exceptionally strong side even by the standards of joeysJ, last year as the 13As

Joeys 14A 45 Canberra 14A 0

1st XV update
Joeys 26 Canberra 0 after 19 minutes. Trying to find a team list. No luck
Joeys backs are running from anywhere at the moment. Great speed.

1st XV update from Hunters Hill. At half time Joeys 50 Canberra 0

My what a premiership does for your confidence and combinations.
Joeys look like they will make changes now to see what impact these fellas have.
The backs have been electric so far with plenty of width. Canberra are just out paced at the moment.
Joeys have made plenty of errors in the quest to play up tempo rugby but when the ball sticks, it has led to a score.
Nice crowd as well.

Full time 91-0 at HH.

The player changes Joeys made only had minimal impact as the Canberra lads were tired of chasing cerise and blue jumpers.
For a first hit out the Joeys players were actually quite sharp at times, way better than in 2018 IMHO.
Joeys forwards were dominant but it was was the slickness of the backs at times that showed Joeys strength.
Run the ball, run the ball.....

Normally Joeys are a bit scratchy in game one, with the rowers out and things still transitioning from Summer to Winter sports. Early days no doubt but a good start.

Wow ... pretty dominant first up hit out for the joe boys! Cricket score.

Joeys backline is going to be very hard to beat.

Gibbs is sublime at 10, O’Brien 13, unless I am mistaken is in his 3rd year

And the leaguie winger kaanan might be slight framed, but has some serious speed and agility.

To beat joeys this year I think you are going to need a great openside flanker, and I can’t think of anyone that has one.

Maybe scots could make Darcy Clifton into one

If joeys has any weaknesses it is that there are several massive stars, so long as they come thru preseason and mid year rep games, I cannot see joeys being beat in gps comp

Despite kings, and newington most likely to threaten

I heard scots Savala junior , has been moved to forwards along with Clifton... interesting... if correct?

A hugely dominant performance by the Joeys 1sts in an initial hitout today against a sizeable Marist XV that struggled with sheer pace and power of the Cerise and Blue tidal wave that never relented. I don’t recall Marist ever coming close to scoring. Bokenham, Houston, Clements, Dominello, Gibbs, Chan and Dowling all dominant.

Always nice to start the season with a win Joker, but while I'm sure that the Joeys boys looked very good, lets for a moment pause to consider the relative strength of the opposition. I'm sure the Canberra boys are wonderful Marist rugby players, but clearly outclassed.

Joeys 13A 72 Canberra 0
Joeys 15A 49 Canberra 7
Joeys 16A 41 Canberra 5
Joeys 1sts 91 Camberra 0

Total 253-12

Forgot the 14A 45-0
298-12

Yes, the competition was indeed not strong as they would have against another GPS school but as the first hit out for the season for all boys it was pleasing to see.

Mind you in 2018 Joeys recorded results similar to the ones recorded on Saturday during the competition rounds for example.... vs Scots College 11 August, 2018

Joeys 13A 64 Scots 7
Joeys 14A 30 Scots 24
Joeys 15A 40 Scots 0
Joeys 16A 40 Scots 7
Joeys 1sts 38 Scots 34

Joeys 212
Scots 65

Newington sent the 15As to the Canberra Grammar School 7s yesterday and the boys won the competition.

Hello QH

Did your boy get a run and if I could ask again for any results they would be most appreciated . Next week I hope to be at Knox, particularly, hope to see the New 15As in action.

Yes newington 15As should be very good ... they were pretty dominant last year

Don’t think joeys beat them?

Altgh no doubt they will seeking to change that

Hmmm ... if Knox is playing newington... that could be a good game

Where is that being played?

14As result in 2018 was 34-10 to New. In 2017 it was either 21-5 or 19-12 to New again.

Regarding the 1st XV Game, I feel Knox will have a distinct advantage over Newington, due to longer preparation. I expect Knox to win by about 10-15 points.

At Knox hopefully on the main oval
