Rys in again through Fitzpatrick 30-0

Vikings just dont want to have anything to do with the physical stuff. Linebreaks at will through the 10/12 channel.

Rays in again to Turner, once again no defense in the 10/12 channel.

38-0

Yowsers, how the mighty have fallen? Pace setter in 2015 is dog tucker in 2016.

How well is Simone playing when he is given a bit of space, or makes space by busting the line?

Is Robbie Coleman the worst rugby player innthe competition? I have long believed so, and I think today's effort is just confirming it. Also, others who are not up to NRC standard include Penca, JJH, and the whole front row.

Meat pie for Smiler to open the account for the Vikings.

Jooste adds the extras to bring the score to 38 Rays 8 Vikings. 32 minutes gone.

Vikings finally realize they are in a game of rugby hitting back through Smiler.

38-8

Try assist from Simone. Josh Turner scoots over the chalk two passes after Simone strips the gilbert in a tackle and unleashes the Rays backline.

46 - 8 to Rays at half time.

Are the Vikings this years Stars? Some good games but when they were bad they were very very bad.

Turner in for another for the Rays 46-8 at halftime.

Vikings club players and youngsters looking rattled and confused. Getting a lesson in hard running and wanting to win.
Hopefully Liileafano overcomes his leukemia scare, his replacements at 10 and 12 are struggling with the pace the Rays are playing with.

Vikings have absolutely no organisation, either in attack or in defense. Many of their players are not up to this standard (obviously), and the game plan is dire. They are the only team in the NRC who believe turnover ball must be kicked back to the opposition.

The portents for the Brumbies in 2017 are not favourable.

Coleman is past it.

There is a significant coaching issue and philosophy in Canberra Rugby watching at this rubbish.

A I have said previously, JJH in the right game in the right position great, (like a McKenzie, if used wrong - a horror story.

Think and compare B City in NRC and Q Red in Supoer Rugby over the past two years. Performance in NRC doesn't always translate directly into the next higher tier of Rugby. There may be hope for the Ponies for 2017.

To be fair to Jooste, its a massive step up from WA school rugby to WA Premier Grade and an even bigger step to NRC. Having said that, apart from his kicking he is yet to show any of the potential that caused the bidding war between the Force and Brumbies.

Rays in again thanks to Simone. Rays leading 52-8

True.

Sio, Alaalatola, Alexander, Fainga’a, Arnold, Cubelli, Kuridrani and Speight is a combination of high quality and experienced mix. Hopefully add in Lilo or a replacement and while it's not quite as good as the side with Moore, To'omua, Tomane and Pocock, it's still a good one.

Two wickets left in the Rays first innings. 52 for 8

Jooste has been playing at a higher level than Horan for the last 12 months. Apart from the gene pool advantage that Horan has, he hasn't been playing at a very high level in Qld Prem footy in 2016.

Both young blokes have a bit of growth and development to go before they reach their full potential.

Yeah, the Brumbies have a lot of firepower to bring back from the Wallabies and players being rested, the big concern for mine though is if they have to start the Super rugby season with Jooste and JJH at 10 and 12. That is going to be a massive target for opposition to attack.

Harry Jones grabs a meat pie. Conversion misses.

Rays 58-14 Vikings

1 minute to go.

No change to the score as Nic Berry toots his tooter to signify No Game.

Final Score 58 Rays 14 Vikings.

But he hasn't got the talent McKenzie's got in his little finger. The undersized Vikings were outmuscled again by the better, bigger Rays' backs.
