Ok I will have to struggle to find these squads - as for example their actual team websites (for 3 NSW teams) don't have them...this is like the competition it is hard to find when it starts, when it is on..sorry given in the fourth season would have thought they would have this better together and I know certain posters will get up in arms as involved but it is a shambles.a shambles I will support and go to games but gees they make it hard to attract other new followers..
One day they will get there shit together for this competition.
They've all been posted on their social media pages and through the ARU website.
But I think it's poor to be releasing information like that in image formats instead of text.
Why is this done? It makes no sense. Slow down the dissemination of info, or give a certain outlet preferred access?
Facebook prioritises images over text. Image based posts will appear higher in people's newsfeed than text based ones. Video would be even better.
Rugby's internet presence is very very poor.
They seriously need to approach Telstra Media (afl.com/nrl.com) and have them operate their online media.
It would not take much effort to improve the basic marketing using existing resources - get the ARU person who looks after the nrc to do their bloody job - like ensuring key media partners like fox sports doing the basics. There are a host of low cost options to better improve release of information and save a lot of other parties time and money. To me it looks like there has been no central oversight of this so not sure what the ARU person who oversees the nrc per the structure I saw some months ago does as this is basics they should be managing.Braveheart is right - don't fart around too much on your website when its such a moveable feast. Basic details like squads, coaches, and fixtures. Let social media do the rest.
Yeah, nah. Let's not forget we're taking shoestring budgets up against billion dollar national competitions with a FTA presence. And the fact that NRC is barely tolerated within the Sydney Premier Club scene.
If you want to look like an local amateur competition then sure, social media is the way to go. If you want to be professional competition then you run a website with all relevant information easy to access for the public, while maintaining various social media platforms to funnel traffic to the main site. It's literally what every professional organisation does.
Gosh. Let's not forget you don't need a billion dollar budget to make a decent site. The AIHL runs on next to nothing at all and their set up is more user friendly than anything the rugby orgs have put together.
we all wish 41 year old Radike SAMO was back playing NRC lol, heck i'd have him at Wallaby number 8 in a heart beat..he can do much better than McMahon.
