NRC onwards and upwards

do you think there is money to put up (sleep, feed and entertain) 35 + people in a regional time (plus flying them around) for 2 months? Twice?

Reg, it’s about building and expanding a base. We have cash to take them into country for what 2 games? There is no way that can be extended? Has anyone tried the local possibilities for sponsorship? Clearly it would a different base, but a local area might get behind a quasi pro local based club.

But no, alas, up front without legwork no additional cash

Aren't you reducing a base by isolating them to one area?

QLD Country base themselves at Bond Uni because they pay them to do so. They generally have one other game a season more regionally and that is usually largely paid for by the host union/council.

NSW Country are on the road more with a similar model, although I think they have some owners behind the scenes that support them a bit.

Reg, I believe that the private ownership of the Eagles no longer exists and NSW rugby run both teams

Reg I wasn’t trying to be contrary. I think there is something in it.

But I understand if commercial reality places the idea into the stupid.
