NRC onwards and upwards

I would envisage that if a team is cut from NRC it will be next year. The Force and Rebels currently have significant input into Spirit and Rising squads. Next year the NRC squad of the cut Super Rugby team would be predominantly local talent.

That could happen mate, but the local Union would still be there, I'm sure they could manage a squad in 10 or so Super rugby players move over short term (probably young ones, short of a run and willing to live in a different city).

Is there any chance the NRC teams could be functioning during the premier club season as well? Just thinking if the NRC teams could provide their non-super club players with some extra professional training during the week, with those players turning out for their respective premier clubs on the weekend.

It's down to cutting the Force. The ARU would like to move their contracted players to new teams.

Get them bedded-in at the new franchises via the 3rd-tier programs in their relocated states.

Bill Pulver has apologised for not cutting the soup team sooner.

But he's doing his best so he can depart the stage with honour intact.

This will leave the way clear for a Clyne-approved successor to make Australian rugby great again, starting from a clean slate.

Source?

Bloody ridiculous. Might as well kiss Rugby in the West goodbye if true.

Hmmm. IIRC arbitration with the Force begins on 31 July. It could go on for an extended period, especially if it leads to an appeal situation. Just when does the NRC season start?

That was a bit of parodying on my part. Apologies.

But I do believe this is linked to the Super debacle, hence the soft steps on the schedule.

RUPA get to have a say on changes to the NRC format. In extremis, they might even veto Fiji's inclusion. No one really wants to see that, but the ARU need to be overthrown.

Just when does the NRC season start?

The Rams have reverted back the 'Greater" Sydney name but play exclusively in the Nth-West area. I know Eastwood bought the rights but they could spread the games around at least a bit.
