Jesus Christ - I hope the Melbourne Rising manage to put together a good outfit otherwise the Western Force Perth Spirit will put 80 on them.

The Pigs will certainly be looking to send a message with a strong performance here.

Bench to come. Thinking it's a loss for the Rising, that's a very good Spirit side, but I think between the Koroibete and Timani inclusions, and the fact that we got in a trial match last week (Round 1 is always ludicrously rusty), I don't think it'll be the 5+ try humping it looks at first glance.

like all these games defence seems pretty optional. Ruru having a very good game for the sandgropers

Conversely, Timani hasn't really done much and has been completely outplayed by Naisarani

A good win to the Spirit. Was expecting a hiding after the 14-0 stat but Rising did some things that showed promise. Their young guns did well against an experienced side and I was surprised how well the Rising scrum held up. Entertaining game!

Happy enough with that result: Spirit are clearly the best team in Comp on paper, seeing our mix of journeymen, clubbies and youngsters not let it blow out is a good standard to set themselves going into the rest of the season, particularly if the Toolis and Leota can get fit enough to join up with the rest of the forwards.
