Scoey, I'd like to be more positive but how are we winning this weekend? Food poisoning? Playing 17 on the field and hoping nobody notices? Strategically placed land mines?

I can categorically say that I won't be watching. It's not good for my blood pressure.

I deliberately stopped short of telling you all to pick your chins up and be positive.

How do we win? We score more points then them. That's it. We have some damn fine players. Theirs are probably better across the board but this isn't exactly Japan vs South Africa. They are firm favourites and deservedly so. I just get annoyed with the constant stream of punters in here trying to outdo each other with over the top descriptions of how we have no chance.

So what things do we need to do to beat the AB's? What areas of the game can we exploit to score more than them?

I'm not trying to be a smart arse or outdo other posters for negativity, I promise you. I genuinely give us no chance, because I don't think player for player we have enough winners across the park to beat them. I'll be chuffed if we do, but objectively I can't see how we can achieve it. Against any other team in the world at this point in time I can, just not this AB team who seem to have raised their game even further in 2016 (which I didn't think was possible).

Generally, when a shit team beats a great team it's because that great team didn't play great that one time. Last year, the soon to be World Cup winners played turd in Sydney and we beat them. Could happen again.

Thing is, aint no fucking way in hell the AB's don't bring their A game to a record breaking match at Eden park. Not a chance.

We need to affect at least 2 intercept tries whilst the ABs are hot on attack and likely to score. This would created a 28 point turn around and we would then have a chance though likely still lose by 2-7 points.

For this we should recruit Alex Newsome from the Eagles.

In a game like this I'd like to see us use the slimiest weapon a team can use (see England RWC 2003). I'm of course referring to the dreaded:

Drop goal.

Whenever we're in their ~30 and nothings on, give a couple of forward pods a hit up and chuck Quade / Hodge in the pocket. Over it goes and keep the scoreboard ticking. Attack when opportunities present themselves, but if nothings on 3 points thank you sir.

For me the droppie is the softest of all options unless it's the 80th minute and we need to score to win. But.........sure, wheel it out against the All Blacks because as you say we need to keep the scoreboard turning over.

Very soft option and I believe it should be reduced from 3 points. Regardless, I would absolutely love to overcome our Eden Park drought whilst stopping the ABs from setting the record for most consecutive test wins.

Christ I'd love for QC (Quade Cooper) to kick 20 of the damn things if it meant we won at Eden Park for the first time in 30 years.

Going on current world ranking points it would be easier for Japan (74.95 and 12th) to beat the Wallabies (85.33 and 3rd) than for the Wallabies to beat the Allblacks (96.57 and obvious 1st). This before you take into account home ground advantage.

We have done it before against the odds and it will happen again, maybe not this weekend, but if not then soon.
The record number of wins in a row has been a pretty solid number as far as time goes so probability suggests that they will go down soon. Hope it is to us.

We're not a shit team.

The current ABs are undoubtedly a great team. If it helps your personal sense of drama to call us 'shit' then go for it. But it's you that's shit. At least our players cave under immense pressure.

If that doesn't fit in the prevailing atmosphere then so be it.

Personally I think it's disrespectful of the team. Your biggest problem on Saturday will be to find a suitable sofa fold for your belly fat. Genia, Hooper and the rest of our boys will be coping with the All Blacks at Eden Park.

Go Wallabies.

This is the key point. Previous All Black attempts at the record have been during RWC buildups, so were not paramount. Just a nice-to-have, if you can pull it off. This time round, however, imaginary records are all they really have left to collect. As such, I imagine this match will basically be treated as RWC a knockout match. That it's at Eden Park is simply well organised trolling on the part of the NZRU.

Another interesting tidbit on the record: the current proper record holder is Cyprus, with a sequence of 24 test wins. If the AB's do go the rest of the year undefeated, then matches 23, 24 and 25 would be against the Lions. In the interests of literary drama, you lot, and every one else we play this year, have a duty to lose the tests in order set up a proper titanic Lions test series.

I am flying over the ditch to watch this game so hope the Wallabies do well. Must say though that I am going with the mindset of a rugby fan wanting to watch a great AB team rather than as a hopeful wallaby fan. Surrounded by so much all black support can be rather depressing otherwise.

There is such a gap in the ranking points that NZ can't gain points by winning and Australia can't lose points from this match.

In terms of World Rugby Rankings, we literally have nothing to lose.

Has our team really improved THIS year.

Maybe, but only marginally would be an objective view.

The Blacks won by 34 in the first Bled and 20 in the second.

If the Blacks play as well as they did in the first and second games and we lose by 10 or less, I, for one will accept we have marginally improved.

But fuck we have a long way to go.

I think we have improved substantially as the season has gone on. This weekend will be a big test to see how well we can compete though as clearly NZ are massively better than our opponents in our last four tests, South Africa and Argentina.

We're not at the same level as we were at during the RWC last year but we certainly peaked then and had the good fortune that all our key players were healthy and available.
