For what it's worth, my suggestion: "Southern Hemi 4 Rugby" ........ with a possible by-line: "Oils Aint Oils....Sol"!!
From a former Castrol Distributor!!

In 12 months time nobody will give a shit whether it's called TRC, The Rugby Championship, The Castrol Edge Rugby Championship, The Castrol Edge Tri-Nations or whatever.

I remember when they called it the Tri-Nations. You thought, how clever - what an original (shit) name! But it soon passed....

I quite like it actually. Sounds a bit classier than usual. Simple but effective. As for the logo, no worse than this one.

Lord Logo
never gonna get any brand recognition with that shitty logo, they smudged the font as they were lifting their hand up.

I can almost see them trying to put that logo across the whole field, using the real goalposts as in the logo. Not sure if it's logistically possible though.

I'd hate to think how much money was spent (or rather, not spent) in developing that logo...

Knee jerk reactions, chaps. There's strategy here.

The administrators are after something they can sell to viewers, advertisers, for cable and terrestrial tv networks. They want a new product for a new audience that may not have seen the game before - more than likely aimed at North America. The new name has to have the word "rugby" in it.

The Championship - clearly a poke in the eye to IRB, as well as something the advertisers will love. The Castrol Rugby Championship. Brands will want to be involved.

Tri-Nations was a generic name that couldn't be taken out of its core market and makes no sense in new markets.

3N and a training run

If anyone can make the argies look competitive it will be us
The matches in argentina will be played in substantially the same time zone as USA and Canada are in. That presents a huge opportunity in those countries, where it will be summer: there must be plenty of nth americans who want to watch footy of a full blooded contact type in their off season, just like I will watch NFL in preference to cricket or wog ball.

Feel the width of our delegation! I'm not sure we can say we're punching above our weight anymore...

And surely it's gotta become SANZARG

Check the white Crocs / slippers bottom right. That's way wrong.

As you were.

There'll be some upsets in Beunos Aries and not, I predict, just when the Wallabies win there.
