They were! Higginbottom was simply a "backrower" to me a lot of the time as i couldn't tell. The streamed games didnt help though.

I like the jersey, and I also like the size of the numbers. It's a traditional look. The shade of yellow is in line with the rest of australia's sporting teams. The old one was like custard.

Which tradition? I grew up with gold jerseys with big nmbers, that'll do me for tradition.

I think part of the idea is that the jersey changes into a darker shade of yellow, more like the optimal gold, when it gets wet. It sort of seemed to work on some of the jerseys, I think we'll need to wait until the Wallabies play in New Zealand to see if it really works. "

Yes apparently the new jerseys are made from a new wonder fabric incorporating litmus paper so that when the acid really comes on they'll turn pink ;->

At least we know it wont turn purple, seeing as the Wallabies are lacking some pretty basic skills...

I liked the BaaBaas jerseys last night. A bit weird with looking like a Saffa uniform, but I thought I'd get one for myself. Nothing at KooGa or ARU websites. Any thoughts?

I would like to see a better picture of it, it looked OK, but that stream was a little lower than the HD I usually watch, and my boggle eyes could only make out the colour and numbers, so I didn't get the details.

here are a couple shots. interesting the for how small the wallabies numbers are, the baabaa's are rather large. saffa-like, but something in me likes it too.

They look a lot like Schoolboy teams jerseys. Big "traditional collar" with a button and big numbers- not too shabby at all.

Not too shabby.

But is that a sheep on the crest?

They could have done a better job on the thing, Kooga had the opportunity to go to town (like a stade jersey) or go all retro. Instead they went for a green plain jersey, massive marketing opportunity missed IMHO, it could have been a real money spinner as a special edition

Agree on all points, maybe it was a rushed job? It would have been interesting if the players had worn their Super 14 socks instead of club socks.

why yes, two actually.

i reckon they could have put a local spin on the whole idea of the barbarians, calling them the drovers, and yes, making the jerseys flamboyent.

i did like how they had proper numbers and collars though, showing kooga can do it with the wallabies kit if they wanted to....

also, hated the green, no one like looking like a saffa

If they make a gold jersey, I'll buy it. WHile it's yellow, I'm happy to find a green jersey with a collar and two rams on the front headbutting.

That green jumper with the two sheep head-butting each other has been the Australian Barbarians' jumper for a number of years now. And IIRC the Oz BaaBaas have always worn white shorts. Like the fact KooGa have kept traditional collars for this jumper.

Kooga woud have looked for the cheapest possible option for the BaaBaas kit. They are "semi" obligated to kit them out. It is not much of a commercial opportunity at all. The BaaBaas play once every few years. How many jerseys would they sell each year? - Maybe 100-200 tops eg 10-20k profit - which would get eaten up by a couple of newspaper ads. Was the game even televised live or not?
