Predictable - Green and Gold Rugby moderators ganging up on a poor little rugby enthusiast.

Anyway in rebuttal, Coopers attitude is great - as in he gets into the position to make the tackle, runs hard to get back onside to make the tackles; other poor defenders just won't even be there to make the tackle. He, however, has a lazy tackling technique as often he does not use his arms properly to hold his opponent and bring him to ground, but rather trys to almost shoulder charge them with arms flailing like Kermit the frog. Fix this and he will fix his defence.

Also, remember that time where I came 3rd in the G&GR tipping competition and Scarfman came 79th. Therefore I find it funny that someone like yourself can run around on this forum proclaiming your rugby know how by arrogantly suggesting you can delete all posts that you don't agree with.
If you are still trying to make sense, you will need to change the word "lazy" in your description of his tackling technique. If you don't understand how that contradicts with his "great attitude", that's not my fault.

And I didn't suggest that I could "delete all posts that I disagreed with" and I didn't delete your post. Regarding rugby know-how: bring it on, son.

I don't see a problem with what Reddy has typed.
It is true that sometimes his tackling technique is lazy. He may have used a better term but I fully understood.
As far as wanting to delete a post or wanting to throw something at a computer screen for the use of the word "Lazy" I would suggest that you take a pill.

For myself, I reckon that Giteau is as close to a Tim Horan clone as we're ever likely to get.

I guy I used to play cricket with said the same thing to me about 7 years ago!

Reddy!'s random posts had a cumulative effect on me. He's like a Wazimba Lite.

I invented the anti Matt Giteau rant. I give him a 4/10 - the lack of spite is unforgiveable.

Some great threads running at the moment. Must be something in the air. Finals fever? Pre-wallabies squad announcement tension?

On the topic of Gits, I am a fan and would put him at 12 v the Poms and for the 3N regardless of his sub par form this year but would see the merit in benching him for the Fiji game just to see how it affects his attitude and his commitment to the team.

I don't think that laziness is the issue with Cooper's technique. This issue is guts. He has an aversion to putting his head down. In a front on tackle, you will never see him bend over and drive his legs ala Barnes or Ioane. He just doesn't have the guts. You are always going to fall off tackles if you are going too high.

Like we've said before, make him tackle Palu front on for a week until he is desensitised to the fear, and he will be a better tackler (if he is still alive at the end of the week).

Cooper when tackling often appears to be trying to strip the ball, which he has done on several occasions. I think this is generally you see him go high. I don't think it lack of guts I just think his brain is set to attack. He wants the ball in his hands so he goes for it. It's something that he probably used to do at school (?anyone know for sure?) and should have been sorted out then but as he does get the ball off the player and then jinks his way up field the option of a quick try over defence was probably ignored.

Now that he has his attack all sorted out and generally makes the right option in attack. I think you will find that Deans will spend some one on one time with him talking about defence tactics and temper the tackling high and redirect it towards the legs.

Burgess and Giteau had a much-publicised falling-out last season, Giteau believing his own form was suffering because he had no idea where Burgess was passing the ball.

Does anyone remember the crab having a "much-publicised falling-out" with Burgess last season?

Not with Burgess, Deans yes.

There were a few indirect comments around the issue but not to the stage of pistols at dawn as the article suggested.

9 Genia
10 Cooper - best OZ 10 and plays the sort of game to get over the gain line
12 Giteau - goalkicking and I'm not sure there is a better 12 despite his lack of time there
13 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) - get him running at people more often. Covers FB in this squad
11 Mitchell - form player
14 Ioane - too dangerous to leave out. Robbie might have other ideas
15 Hynes - better option than Rabbit

20 Burgess - who else???
21 Barnes - could easily be a starter
22 Chambers - get this guy in

Wider squad
Rabbit
Cross
Finger

If AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is the long term FB then how about a

9 Genia
10 Giteau
12 Barnes
13 Ioane
11 Mitchell
14 Hynes
15 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)

For some strange reason (nothing founded in this argument whatsoever) but I think Deans would only select Cooper at 10 (at the expense of Giteau), but would have Giteau at 10 before Barnes. Like I said nothing to go with but a feeling....

Perhaps Giteau trademarked the "Crab" manoeuvre, and resented Bugo's attempts to "out-Crab" the Crab by running sideways 10m before passing. Problem with Crabs - they're narky buggers.
