Not to the point perhaps, but I always thought that 12 was Grant's best position.
Grant never was a big punter, he'll do the basics well with punting but sure a good defender and distrubitor. Thought he would go to France but look like he chuck that one and have Bok aspirations. Hope he'll make the EYT.

Tamooau had a silent game on saturday. WP played more with the forwards in the first half and he played only a distributor kind of match. Was replaced with Hoffman in the second half.

Yes, PB. I watched the game and thought he did OK - no real mistakes and nothing outstanding. Not a game wher a back could shine.

As is often the case when one team is outclassed, it wasn't much of a spectacle. WP, correctly, scored its tries the simplest way - Route 1.

Well saturday is quite a critical match for WP. They will know beforehand whats required to get to the top. To'omua is required to play at least 40 minutes for them to be able to play him in the semis. So they may start with Grant and give him the second half or the otherway round against a Lion team that will be difficult at home. We need to stay at the top to avoid a semi against the Bulls and have the easier Cheetahs or Griquas at home and secure a home final.

The young Lions nearly beat a Shark team that was chock and block of Bokke.

If I have to put money on I'll back the Brutes to take it in the end.

To be honest I want a Brute vs WP final on Newlands, north vs south , like we had in the good old days.

I'm very interested to see how To'omua goes.
I expect they'd pull Frikkie Welsh, and move everyone out one spot from Peter Grant onwards for him?

Yep saturday is vital day for the Streeptruie. I remember a S14 round 14 match in the Coke Blik and last weeks match vs Sharks and just hope WP have learned some valuable lessons out of them.

Take the 3 points in the first half (I hate this lineout kicks they do and try to score from there), build an innings and get a big as possible lead and once the win is in the bag then go for 4 tries.

The Lions wont be easy but it all depend what will happen in Biltongland. Luckily they'll know what needs to be done.

Just to add some ingredient to the WP Lions match is that it look like Coetzee 9the WP coach) look like the front runner to coach the Lions in next years S14.

I saw that headline today...

Who would coach Province if he goes?
Would Rassie coach both the Stormers and Province?

Matthew Proudfoot will coach WP CC side and Rassie the Stormers. Think that was the idea since Proudfoot appointment and Flekkie the backline.

Whatever happened with Chester Williams' coaching aspirations?
I know he is currently trying to help out Boland (a bit of lost cause given their lack of player depth) but I would have thought he'd be earmarked for bigger things?

Tamooua did not have the best of matches on saturday. Think he'll cover Grant on the bench on saturday.

Also think Rassie made a huge mistake letting go Ricardo Croy to SWD. Croy had a very good match in the first division semi and now will end up with the Pumas next year.

Juan de Jongh is a very exciting find in the CC and saturday a BIG test for him against the Bulls. Welsch and him combine pretty well and the duos between du Jongh & Welsch vs Meisiekind & Pretorius is one I am looking forward.
