Just to note: I'm still with the program. Springboks crap! Wallabies to get molested by Kiwis!

What do we want?
A new coach!
When do we want him?
Maybe at the end of the Tri-Nations but otherwise after the RWC!

I still wanna see what happens at the end of the Tri Nations. If unsuccessful again (we've only won the one game replica as last year) then I want to see a new coach appointed for the end of season tests.

You still have to admit our backline play was pretty dreadful. 2 trys from 70% possession for most of the game is not a good strike rate. This team needs bonus points if we are to tip the All Blacks from the top of the table.

I was however pleased to see Deans use most of his bench for a change...and show some emotion.

Defence was great - good to see he has been working on Quade and Mitchells defence.

Eh I don't think we necessarily are. The backline is still stuttering and dropping balls.

It just has not been settled enough for long enough. I think if we continue with the current lineup, barring injury / suspension there is enough there to suggest they can become pretty dangerous. Giteau showed he still has something to offer - now we need to see consistency from him, reliability from Mitchell and JOC (James O'Connor), and maybe more opportunities for Horne (who I thought did OK with limited chances).

Digby to return. With little disruption, slot him in to 13 for Horne.

Digby gives plenty for sure. I only have reservations about whether he can distribute well enough. But he will be a contender to be in there somewhere. Good to have the option of him coming back. I see him as a supersub at first.

I thought Horne was pretty good tonight, especially in defence, but a fit Digby has to be in there somewhere. Preferably on the wing for mine. If they are going to run back everything then AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) should stay at FB, so maybe Schmoo moves to the bench.

Far from it Gagger. We cannot get carried away. The Wallabies are the Number 1 team to get carried away after a victory. We are going to get spanked this time next weel, and this debate will be reignited. You heard it here folk.

No need to jump to the opposite extreme though, chief. Wallabies fans are actually allowed to enjoy winning, guys.

Believe me you are not the best country at getting carried away england are. Every time we put in a good performance the press reads, England have turned it around , they have found a new sence of urgency, world beaters, finally seem to actually play rugby. Then the next week we lose to scotland or france and we are suddenly shit again. It happens every time. At least the wallabies are actually a good team we are ponderous and slow in 90% of our matches

I am on the side of vision and I believe we are moving just about right. Even so, I'm going to wait until we play the ABs next weekend before I join you at the end of the tunnel Gagger...

I was reluctant to post on this thread; for the very title of it discouraged anything but censure.

Folks - we are getting too carried away with facts. Facts are inconvenient. What I like is the vibe; the vibe of this Wallabies team based on the extended experience of watching one 3N game. I love the vibe,

Under Knuckles Connolly the Wallabies would have been less likely to play as the Wallabies did tonight, as fly to the moon - and without a rocket. And the same goes for the Great Pontificator, Eddie Jones.

Those two other blokes would have us playing as other teams do: trying to compete with them as to the Golden Rule of how those others play.

What Deans is doing, and I give him credit without getting on the 2008 model bandwagon yet, is that he is looking for a point of difference that the Wallabies may have.

Shaking the tea leaves, throwing the dice, spinning the wheel, spraying the wall of the urinal in patterns, you can see that the Wallabies do have a point of difference. It is the Genia/Cooper nexus, and if others are involved in play excluding Genia or Cooper, then they play as if they were: having a go; against all odds, having a go.

Does it work all the time? Hell no. Will it work more often later? Hell yes. Will opponents be shit scared even if the Wallabies are just scratching their bums? Hell, yes.

Such freedom, such danger for the other team, though only relevant if the piggies can create the quality of pill to make it work, is Deans' legacy to Oz rugby.

Whatever the outcome of Deans' tenure, let's not let that slip between the cracks. We should play the Aussie way and let other teams combat our natural point of difference.
