After the last game I reckon O'Connell will be captain if fit with BOD 2nd choice.

I have been told that Visser will definitely be going as one of five Scots in the squad (guessing the others).

I think we might see POC as the test captain and BOD as the tour captain. Doesn't sound like BOD is physically going to be ready for a Lions test ( at least not full matches) by the time the tour starts but his experience and leadership would be invaluable to have.

Was so happy to see POC back to it, really thought he was going to be too broken to ever play like that again.

I see what you mean about Olding now, what a talent. Bowe looked good today as well as Marshall.

He was trying to hack a ball on and he caught Rob Kearney's brother Dave in the head with his kick. Looked completely accidental and although it doesn't do much for Dave Kearney, who was stretchered off, it should mean there's no citing for POC.

It wasn't malicious but it was reckless though. He'll be cited.

Well just watched it and if he was welsh scottish or Italian he would be out for 6 to 8 weeks. Very stupid action but will probably just miss the rest of domestic season and be free for lions

Five?! Really?

Visser, Gray.......

Euan Murray and Laidlaw maybe? Scott Hogg?

Really still have my fingers crossed for a coach with no history in Irish provincial rugby so we can get away from the petty provincialism shit for a few years. Equally tired of reading the back and forth accusations of provincial favor (Kidney's selections always just seemed more idiotic than they were favoring any provinces) as I am reading Growden's shit about Australian rugby.

The POC incident was reckless but not malicious but it was very, very ugly looking. He'll probably cop 3-4 weeks for reckless and dangerous play. Really don't think there's any chance POC is going to get the summer off after last week.

POC escapes citing. The Board decided his actions were only careless. What happened to reckless and/or dangerous?

I could definitely see 5 making it. I think Scotland have some excellent players who a lot of top nations would want. They just dont have this sam class across the board. However i feel their fortunes will now improve with a solid coach

My Scots:
Murrary
Gray
Laidlaw
Maitland
Visser
Hogg

MAitland and Visser are solid enough players and were very servicable in the 6 nations, however its their rabo pro 12 form tha ti am impressed with and with some decent centres inside of them they could be twice the players.

An ex-team mate is working on the SA tour and has been told to expect 5 players away on lions duty if fit.
Also another ex-team mate has been told Visser using tour to go to france, may be agent trying to get deal done before squad announced however.
What may help is that all but Gray if he goes, will be squad players and not feature in tests unless from bench and Scotland have a few versatile players - such as Laidlaw, Visser, Maitland and Hogg or even Scott. No Sunday games so Murray could be a decent shout but again Grant would be a decent back-up as either Tight or Loose.
