I suppose you're onto something there - what this really is about is the utterly pathetic job the Wallabies management team is doing.
Hmmm. This feels like something, but I can't quite put my finger on it.....
If this is too subtle for you, try this:
- If Patston was an issue, then in time the players would have had it dealt with by complaining above Link's head
- Patston didn't make a certain player send insulting and derrogatory texts about her
- Two players were asked by Doyle (not Patston), at the request of Link (not Patston), to change shirts. One did with no comment. The other one gave a snide comment, Patston weighed in, and it was on. Given the prior history between Patston and Beale, it's unsurprising what happened, especially after a supposed "emotional apology" for the previous offence
There are right ways to go about things, and there are wrong ways (see: Quade Cooper, toxic).
I will be surprised if either of Patston and Beale remain employed by the ARU at the end of this. But if you can't accept that "Beale was the architect of his own destruction" (as someone previously so succintly put it), then I politely suggest you study the above picture for a while. Oh, and I have no doubt that Beale would have kept his job if he didn't have such ridiculous priors.
