He has a good lawyer so I would expect a defence based around the grounds for the search to take place.

And this is the issue with these types of scandals where everything rests on the minutae a defence can bring. They drag out and it can't be good for the team culture having this rot going on.

KHunt has form - we all know that. I some circles I'm known as the 'smiling assassin' or the 'hanging judge' as 3 strikes and you're out. Slow learners should not benefit from the lack of correct action from those in charge of our great game.

When KHunt is found guilty - as he will be - surely this should be enough to convince RA that these extremely high cost NRL converts have little to offer our game.

Who knows what KHunt has cost RA and the Reds but this cost and the cost of the expanded squads (especially the Rebels) would have gone a long way towards covering the cost of the Western Force out to 2020 - especially as Forrest was prepared to cover any losses to RugbyWA over that period.

Grass roots rugby have been robbed of funding due the likes of such poor decisions - and the high cost of paying out contracts to bring players back from Europe.

Please can we go back to rewarding players who come up through Club Rugby, have the right values reinforced from the get go, and who play for the love of the game??

Yes, they may bring attention to the great game of rugby - but for all the WRONG reasons.
I well remember the story that came out of the Wallabies changing room when talking about player payments while on Spring Tours. Some notable Wallabies, including a past captain, were of the view that no play no pay.
It seemed that some players expressed the view was that he'd play for the Wallabies for zero $ as it was an honour and privilege to play for his country. We need more of these players playing for our country!!

RA - get back to basics and your core values of Passion, Integrity, Discipline, Respect and Teamwork. (It would be even better if the RA Board showed these occasionally)

Leave the prima donnas and code switchers to the other sporting codes.
Yes they may bring attention to our great game - but for all the WRONG reasons.

Wondered if I'd ever see the words "good" and "lawyer" side by side on this site. Be that as it may, since they found drugs and "drug implements" how could a lack of reasonable cause to suspect the possession of drugs possibly succeed?

Won't be easy, K and Thorn go way back. I'll return my membership if he stays. I am just sick of this type of shit going on.

Dont they test their hair for this stuff - and I don't mean to see if any got caught in his beard on the way in? Your point about Thorn is a good one - had not occurred to me how far they would go back. Do the test: https://www.health-street.net/wp-co...-drug-testing-facts-and-myths-infographic.jpg

Tinfoil hat time. Earlier the Reds posted a statement on Facebook and people were posting comments. There were about 60 I saw, many along the lines of sack him now.

Just checked in to see how much this was blowing up their Facebook and they have turned off being able to view the comments.

Mr Magill said police will allege officers found a bag of white powder on the ground between the two men, which it will be alleged was cocaine.

The 31-year-old Queensland Reds star was arrested and charged with two counts of drug possession and issued with a notice to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 29.

A 32-year-old man, who was with Hunt at the time, was also arrested and later charged with possessing an item used in a drug offence.

If Thorn sticks to his guns over Quade and Hunt goes, then we are in real trouble depth wise.

Hunt is the backup 12 and 3rd no.10. Isaac Lucas will be playing in the U20 team (flyhalf) but still that leaves us green. Greene is around, but also...a bit green. (So much green sorry).

Maranta is our backup 15....which is unfortunate and we don't have anyone else on the books considering Thorn flicked Ngamanu (spelling) who was a Aus u20 winger/FB. It would mean another rookie being dragged up from club land. While I'm all about homegrown talent, this is the scenario where you end up having seriously non super rugby standard players hitting the field purely because they are the best ones left standing in Brisbane.

We still havn't used our Marquee signing, or our japanese signing. Best thing would be to scour Japan Top league for players who can add value to us and won't be joining sunwolves or are pushing for japanese eligibility. Would have to beg the ARU for aussie eligible players so might have to be more creative and use the marquee options. I say this because A.Toua for example was denied the ability to play both Brumbies and in Japan.

Times like this It's disappointing that there are perfectly aged, experienced and quality players like Fainga'a, Tapuai, Inman, Betham, Toua, Morohan, Turner, Horne & JOC (James O'Connor) etc that still have a lot of good years left in them, unavailable to us.

I'd be on the phone to Gits, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) or even Gerrard in Japan and ask if they feel like chilling out here and helping support our very inexperienced players (now that quade and hunt both probably not around)

This is becoming farcical. No specialist backup 10, 12, or 15. 4 Scrumhalves. Huge drain of experience made worse with the pushing of Quade and now this mess. A couple key players missing the start of the season. Rookie Head Coach. 2 Assistants.

I don't know how much truth there is in this, but according to some pretty well informed sources the use of cocaine is quite prevalent amongst well to do Sydneysiders. If this is the case, and I think that it probably is, it would be very surprising if there is not a similar pattern of use in Brisbane, as well.

There is a reason drug syndicates are so brazen bringing in large shipments of drugs to Aus - prices are high (relative to, say, the US) and so is demand. The profits available are enormous. For every half tonne shipment intercepted, several others are not. And it's anywhere that there is cash, which is all the big cities.

Mate... go to any eastern suburbs pub and there will be a line of people in and out of the bathrooms, carefully passing credit cards or mirrors over the walls, 2 or 3 people walking in and out of the one stall together... it’s not just prevalent, it’s engrained in the fabric of society.

It’s pathetic if you ask me..

Its the recreational drug of choice for many. When i was younger i drunk too much, and often drove. Hard to be judgemental imo. Different for a high profile sportsman who has responsibilities beyond his/her own personal life choices. i’d sack KH being so stupid.
