Not exactly. Falloon was charged prior to Hunt providing his statement. One of the downsides of Hunt taking his plea-bargain is that he was required to provide a statement implicating the other defendants. However I don't believe that statement has any way assisted the PPC in their case against any of the footballers (although that remains to be seen). I think his evidence is more directed at building a case against the traffickers.

Neither of us know the behind the scenes. If Hunt pled so early then I'm sure there was a mountain of evidence against him.

Or he is not the vicious monster many lead him to be, and he just wanted to front up and clean the slate so to speak. The blokes who "got off", didn't get off anything, and just look the more weak for it.

Hunt was stupid, near impossible to get a conviction for possession without actually being caught with the stuff and the supply charge was tentative.

Sadly, this kind of conjecture is what passes for evidence in the court of public opinion.

They don't look weak. Illicit drugs have been common for decades and you'd be hard press to find a sizable majority who hasn't dabbled. This was seen by most people as a witch hunt.

ARU fine aside he hardly paid a high price for it though did he?

I reckon he'd take a $2,500 fine + no conviction over the case being heard in open court with associated media frenzy.

And I also think he would have been dumped for bringing th egame into disrepute if he'd chosen to fight the charges and drag it out over the year.

No, Pablo.

Weak that they have shirked responsibility. That they "got off."
