FoxSports news reporting that the Courier Mail are reporting that the CCC have stated that that is all for now given the evidence that they have gathered.

Seemingly no extension of the inquiry into other clubs or codes.

Things may change if someone snitches, or the CCC get some more evidence.

This is good news, really. Irrespective of whether anyone was hoping for a free-for-all. And, it's the way these things should be handled by those authorities - putting water on the fires started by the rumours. Maybe they learned from the Bombers/Sharks debacles after all.

Sometimes, when the tree has been shaken a bit, some fruit doesn't fall straight away. In this case, it seems most of the trees shaken were in the same orchard but who knows if the Qld CCC may have also been looking at other orchards, perhaps in co-operation with other agencies/orchardists?

Not really sure what that has to do with my post. My point is that they don't have anything further right now and they are doing the right thing by stating that clearly.

Everyone can stop speculating in the short term, bookies can start taking money again and we can get back to trying to decide who is the biggest villian between Beale, Hunt and O'Connor.

Channel Nein reporting that the drugs saga is across all three codes.

Just like the match fixing, organised crime, performance enhancing drugs ACC investigation which lead to the Blackest Day in Australian Sport fiasco from last year when soccer, afl, nrl and rugby bosses were paraded before the media in a kindergarten pantomime performance.

Soccer - a couple of church league games in Melbourne had some unusual bets made on them. What organised crime, what PED, what recreational drugs?

Rugby - what match fixing, what drugs, what organised crime? One bloke who has spent 5 minutes in our code has been charged with an offence from when he was in the other code.

NRL - Self confessed PED cheats, previous history of match fixing, former high profile players charged with being key players in Drug syndicates.

AFL - PED rife in certain clubs, several players are OMCG associates, long history of recreational drug abuse, a weak as the proverbial three strikes policy on recreational drugs, no match fixing but plenty of evidence of tanking to get better draft picks the following year.

The drugs sagas are across two codes only, Australian Rules Football and League. Soccer and rugby both operate at a level well above the festering dung heap of ethics, morals and culture displayed in the other two codes.

The media, who have paid have billions of dollars for broadcast rights to AFL and NRL, have a huge vested interest in trying to portray the problem as endemic in all codes not just the ones that they have thrown their money at. They can not afford to have advertisers go all ethical on them, and start moving their spend to soccer and rugby, although there is limited opportunity to do so with SFA FTA coverage of those codes.

No match fixing in AFL but long history of family/friends getting passed inside info for betting on 1st goal scorers.

Am I the only one who has noted the delicious irony of Robbie Williams being used to promote the NRL?

Can't agree with that Hugh. There are rotten apples and genuine good guys in all of the codes.

Story starting to circulate about one of those charged "rolling" over on his mates.

As stated in one of my earlier posts that is the best way for Police Prosecutions or QCC to be successful in getting the supply charges to stick (without direct evidence)

Suppose more will unfold on Thursday at Mention in Southport

I don't think we'll be much the wiser after this mornings hearing!!

Could Karmichael be available to play QPR round 1 on Saturday?

Who's his club?

He won't play club rugby, his first game back will be for the Reds

Now, can someone with legal knowledge explain to me how someone can be charged with supply without actually possessing any of the substance they have been accused of supplying. Surely a charge of supply must accompany a charge of possession.

text messages. It's why they have become so significant in this case. All you need to be charged with supply is to text someone to offer them some blow. You don't need to have any on you.

I believe that's a big part of this case.
