Yeah I agree with ILMF, let's put it in perspective, we are talking about a School team. A good proportion of them are sitting the HSC this year, so they have other priorities besides Rugby.
they are not the Harlem Globetrotters.
Hey Watch, Sydney Boys High is an
academically selective school, they leave Friday morning 1st June bus to Armidale to play rugby against The Armidale School and return to Sydney Sunday afternoon. They too, are a school team with a good proportion of them sitting the HSC this year, with priorities besides Rugby.
Are you claiming my suggestion of St Augustine and Oakhill players not in class for 1 period after lunch on a Monday to prepare to play a visiting NZ team is beyond the academic capability of these two ISA school kids ? How does sending a bus to pick up a NZ team to bring them to your grounds for 3:30 pm match make kids globe totters ?
I also suggested flying to NZ for a Saturday and Sunday or Monday game. These kids would miss a little school Monday, but with smartboard and computer/ internet hookups which are readily available in schools today, kids connect with their classroom teachers, which is important. The return ticket is around $300 and NZealand schools would return the favour by putting you up at a hostel.
Hurlstone Agricultural High School have a whole block with all amenities including a dining hall they will rent out to you, holds about 30 kids, if you want to keep them all together, but it works out cheaper and closer to have them at a backpackers. I am talking about the visiting NZ teams.
