Valuable point, might take a season or two to work through the process. Will be interesting to see both comps slightly blended. The system works for NZ and South Africa so makes sense.
In which Pats finished equal 2nd last in 2s, equal last in 16As and 14As.
It hasn't been published, but I wonder what the weightings are on the various teams that determine the association placings.
I presume the 1st XV performance is weighted more highly than 13A's?
I assume that the ISA top 2 is pretty safely Augs and Oakhill. The ISA / CAS joint announcement has Stannies listed as ISA 3rd in 2024. Are there other schools likely to challenge Stannies for 3rd or does their depth across the age groups mean they are a pretty safe lock for 3rd (for the foreseeable future)?
Just a little confused on how this system works,
Hypothetically let's say Oakhill 1 XV were to win the ISA comp, but despite this Oakhill's 13-16 A's teams all finished dead last. What effect does this have on where Oakhill will stand on the ladder, as this will determine which division they will go into when term 3 come around. I love this concept on joining ISA and CAS just a little confused. Much help is appreciated !
Sorry mate was basing it off the total number of wins for each age group. Which outside of 15s and 13s was equal to other schools. That's not true:
1st - 7th
2nd - 6th
16A - 6th
15A - 3rd
14A - 4th
13A - 3rd
This is available to look at the ISA Website.
ISA don't do equal placings.
Nope - in the past I have found the CAS and GPS websites the best resource for preseason fixtures.Has anyone seen a draft ISA draw yet?
They calculate it based upon performances in 1sts, 2nds, 16A, 15A, 14A and 13A.
In your scenario, Oakhill doesnt make the cut, they'd be playing D2
I can make a start:Does anyone have a list of wallabies by school produced by the ISA or old CCC days?
In the hypothetical scenario you gave, Oakhill will be near the bottom of the ISA ladder so they will go in the lower division against the CAS schools. All the A teams' results matters.Just a little confused on how this system works,

I didnt know Nick White went to Gregs, thanks for the update might keep adding it up. This steams from a barbecue chat over xmas on how many wallabies do you think the ISA competition has fielded. Stannies might have more way way back will do some more research or the Stannies supporters might send some info through. In the hypothetical scenario you gave, Oakhill will be near the bottom of the ISA ladder so they will go in the lower division against the CAS schools. According to wiki Stannies has produced 7 wallabies in total from 1899 to present plus one Scottish international 1984 James McLaren. I think Ben McCalman went to Kinross and Angus Staniforth also went there. Matt Philip went to Auggies. I suspect the only Div1 ISA school which has no Wallaby is Oakhill although 2 of their ex students have gone on to be NRL big name players.According to wiki Stannies has produced 7 wallabies in total from 1899 to present plus one Scottish international 1984 James McLaren. Best bet is to trawl wikipedia as innacurate as it can be at times.Does anyone have a list of wallabies by school produced by the ISA or old CCC days?
No Wallabies but current Super Rugby players Lachlan Anderson (Reds) and Harrison Goddard (Brumbies)I think Ben McCalman went to Kinross and Angus Staniforth also went there. Does a Wallabies Coach count? If so, watch this spaceI suspect the only Div1 ISA school which has no Wallaby is Oakhill although 2 of their ex students have gone on to be NRL big name players.
