Just a little confused on how this system works,

Hypothetically let's say Oakhill 1 XV were to win the ISA comp, but despite this Oakhill's 13-16 As teams all finished dead last. What effect does this have on where Oakhill will stand on the ladder, as this will determine which division they will go into when term 3 come around. I love this concept on joining ISA and CAS just a little confused. Much help is appreciated!

It hasn't been published, but I wonder what the weightings are on the various teams that determine the association placings.

I presume the 1st XV performance is weighted more highly than 13A's?

I assume that the ISA top 2 is pretty safely Augs and Oakhill. The ISA / CAS joint announcement has Stannies listed as ISA 3rd in 2024. Are there other schools likely to challenge Stannies for 3rd or does their depth across the age groups mean they are a pretty safe lock for 3rd (for the foreseeable future)?

My best guess is that they dont weight any performance. Stannies were strong across the board last year in all eligible grades:

3rd, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and 4th

They calculate it based upon performances in 1sts, 2nds, 16A, 15A, 14A and 13A.

In your scenario, Oakhill doesnt make the cut, they'd be playing D2

This is the question that no one seems to knows the answer to at this stage.

Are each of the 1st, 2nd, 16A, 15A, 14A & 13A given equal weighing in determining the association standings, or are the weightings bias towards the older age groups?

If the weightings are overly biased towards the older age groups then the concern is that schools like Barker & Knox will be in the top 3 CAS schools, but then in the cross over competition it is possible that there will be some big mismatches in the younger age groups as they don't have the depth across all their ages groups (like Aug, Oakhill, Stannies & Waverly do)

Like you say, is a very positive step forward and I am hopeful that the teething problems don't detract from what surely has to be the way forward, hopefully towards an outcome where there is a fully combined home and away combined ISA / CAS comp with 2 divisions (as this will avoid the mismatches that currently exist in each association's section of the games (eg. Augs vs Gregs, Knox vs Aloys)

Has anyone seen a draft ISA draw yet?
Nope - in the past I have found the CAS and GPS websites the best resource for preseason fixtures.

It will be interesting to see how CAS/ISA now do their preseasons. I suspect the timing will be similar to GPS. 2 or 3 preseasons trials then into it.

I appreciate you answering as this helped alot !

Although one more question, so how about we flip this hypothetical idea around and say Greg's 1XV were to finish on the bottom of the ISA ladder, but despite this there 16 A's, 15 A's, 14 A's and 13A's all finished first in there respective age group. Does this really mean that Gregs will be in D1? As a result of this there 1XV would be in the same boat as previous years as they begin to compete with the top schools like Barker or Waverly. Once again this is hypothetical and obviously wouldn’t happen much but its interesting to think about. Although in the future, a school such as Pats 1XV or even Kinross 1XV could have a breakout year and finish 1st in ISA, but there lack of depth in the younger boys ultimately put them in D2 which SOMEWHAT defeats the purpose of matching opponents fairly. Not trying to put this down just genuinely curious

In the hypothetical scenario you gave, Oakhill will be near the bottom of the ISA ladder so they will go in the lower division against the CAS schools. All the A teams' results matters.
I can make a start:
