It's a shame. No Grand slam.

Can't deny Ireland's start. They started like warriors and it's hard to come back from that but With consistent refereeing we win that game No Doubt about it.

You need to play one openside. The whole problem with the Wallabies in 2016 is how unbalanced the side has been.

Hoopers defense was poor, 3 or 4 missed tackles from your undrobable openside is not good enough.

Really well in the MOM thread a number of punters say he went rather all right.

Wallabies in 2016'
Lost against the AB's who'd won 18 out of 18.
Lost against the poms and i think they are 13 from 13.
Had some close games, and i think we can 2nd in the Southern Hemishpere.

Yeah i don't like loosing, and I'm not going to battle you on one player in a team game when you are so rock solid with your reply - keep it up.

See this rubs me up so fucking badly. Minor obstruction, as seen against the All Blacks in Bledisloe three, is still a god damn, motherfucking obstruction. Seriously drives me up the fucking wall, across the roof and down the other side. You can't have it both ways. You just fucking can;'t thats not how laws work. If DHP impeded Savea then fucking Arnold was impeded end of story. This is what fucks rugby up and diminishes it's value in the face of the public.
But Twoilms, they can have it both ways, thats the rub. They are the final adjudicator and their decision stands irregardless. Yes they make mistakes, yes teams have lost games due to those mistakes, yes the perceived injustice can seem intolerable.
But is there a solution to this human aspect to the game where the result of every decision is painstakingly reviewed and argued to the point of relegating bad decisions out of the equation. I dont think there is. So the reality is we just have to deal with it. And boy o boy the wallaby brainstrust are definitely not dealing with it.

Are they mutually exclusive though?

Is it "meet with refereeing boss to discuss dubious and inconsistent application of laws in regard to Australian team as to improve our refereeing performance moving forward" vs. "improve teams performance in the first half"?

Can't we do both?

Aside from that, is he really looking for excuses? He's acknowledged that we couldn't stay competitive with our penalty count and that we brought it upon ourselves. I certainly don't think he's making excuses.

If theres someone he'll be angry at it'll be the Australian team.
Of course we can do both.
But that mindset isn't suggested in the article.
Hopefully, the article is not representative of his overall view on where the match was lost.

My bad for not including the link in my original post.

12 tackles with 4 missed is pretty shithouse if you ask me.

We still should of won. Izzy just had to pass the ball and we win that game. Regardless of the crap refereeing

The wallabies scored a try soon after that in a closer position actually, Naivalu.

If he did pass then a kick out wide and a restart, so no that was not a try that cost the match.

Aus running game looked pretty slick, found myself rooting for them due to

i) EOYT Irish sookfest and
ii) holy shitballs, those Irish commentators.

Irish on attack, Aus competing at breakdown? No. They’re “interfering” at breakdown.

It’s ALL fuckin “interfering” if you look at it like that.

“Ireland on attack, oooh, don’t like this competing for the ball business, looks a bit rough, potential foul play here, borderline tackle over there, brave young Irish lad could’ve been hurt by a foreigner in that unnecessary collision (regulation tackle), potential siting I think…”

Penalty counts are inherently misleading, and whilst 13-3 is not ideal in any match you need to go through and actually watch to work out what went on.

The Irish discipline was superb, as it has been the last three matches. They pick their battles at the ruck very well, and keep a cool head at all times - no soft high tackles, no lazy lineout challenges etc. We could learn a lot from watching them.

Furthermore, there were no out-and-out howlers against us. The rub of the green definitely went their way, though, and in tight games that makes a big difference.

I thought Garces' most glaring error was the obstruction no-call on Ireland's second try. I've watched the replay enough times, and Arnold was clearly impeded. The TMO pulled it up, but Jerome barely gave the replay a glance before blowing the try.

I don't think we can complain, though, especially since the rub of the green went our way in the last two matches.

What you mean when he drew in two players and then passed it to foley and Foley dropped it cold with a clear try line??
They should all expect the ball at all times....

And all you guys warbling on about guys complaining about the refs.......go jump! Every loosing team can complain when the refs are as inconsistent as they are!
The wallabies suffered on the field for committing so many penalties, therefore debt paid.....they don't need a world class group of Reffs to ignore a blatant block that lets in a try......a try that proved the difference! Let's not forget "yellow" cards for a self inflicted high tackle and a tip tackle that wasn't a tip tackle let alone dangerous.......all coming from the "welsh listen to my gospel sideline" Reff! (Smacks forehead)!
Oh well plenty of class shown.....we just need a tad more tough mobility up front and a 10 that can attack properly and we'll be fine!

I'll say it again just like every game......if Quade had dropped a sitter a metre out and passed two blind dud hospital passes that led to turnovers......he'd never play again! Let alone that foley played almost no role in our good attacks or tries!

What do the last two matches have to do with this one? We would have won this one if that try hadn't of been inexplicable allowed! It's rare such a BLInD.....stuff up is made......in fact it appeared rather arrogant by the Reff to cast a glancing look at the replay.....yet he allows the sideline Reff to dictate to him what the penalties should be! Yeah right......Pah
