I would say all the penalties against wallabies were correct, with perhaps the exception of the Mumm head high since the player ducked into him and all he did was wrap him up, but there is a focus on contact with the head.

The obstruction was minor and I don't believe he would have tackled him so fair enough.

The issue is garces was inconsistent.
Mauls irish in the side , ignored.
Tackles turning into mauls wallabies held up called early irish given a lot more time.
Holding on, wallabies given 2 secs if that, Pocock has to drag the body for 4-5 secs yet he is penalised when finally cleaned out for handling the ball.
Irish given longer to roll away or ignored.
Owens gets involved and calls a flat pass forward , surely it should go to tmo.
Even then Pocock was head high tackled when he gave that pass no penalty.

See this rubs me up so fucking badly. Minor obstruction, as seen against the All Blacks in Bledisloe three, is still a god damn, motherfucking obstruction. Seriously drives me up the fucking wall, across the roof and down the other side. You can't have it both ways. You just fucking can;'t thats not how laws work. If DHP impeded Savea then fucking Arnold was impeded end of story. This is what fucks rugby up and diminishes it's value in the face of the public.

Jesus Folau's decision making is pretty phenomenally bad for a now seasoned rugby pro. It's like every run he does some good and decides he needs to balance out his rugby karma by throwing a pass to no one or not throwing a pass for a certain try.

Dean Mumm proved his detractors right.

Otherwise, a decent performance for the second 40 nearly glossed over the worst half of rugby we've played all year save for bledisloe 1

For the try that should have been pulled up for obstruction to Ireland, if Poey hadn't of stopped to have a little dig at the Irish bloke holding him back he probably would have been in the defensive line in the exact spot the guy ghosted through. Play the whistle god damnit.

True, but Rory Arnold was hip and shouldered out of the way just as he was about to grab the bloke. Very poor decision given some of the tries that have been disallowed this year for obstruction.

The refereeing was not great but it always seems worse after a close fought loss.
The obstruction / try ruling was really the only one to me that stood out as a game changer.
Many of the others were 50/50 calls and while I agree we were not getting the rub of the green they weren't absolute howlers either.
We still had the opportunities to win.
We really only have ourselves to blame.

I need to watch the game a second time, but my distinct impression late in the game, Ireland had a scrum about 5m out from their try line. It was messy, and I think the Wallabies probably had the upper hand in that set, but to no avail. The ball went one wide from the scrum, Genia made the tackle and a ruck formed which could have given the Wallabies a good chance to turn over the ball. Ireland No 6 came into the ruck directly from the side to help kill the ball. Penalty to Ireland. WTF?????

Funnily enough I thought Mumm had a great game up until the yellow. I felt a little sorry for him on the yellow as the Irish prop had anchored himself with his arms.

Cheika hardly 'blamed the ref'. Our media have sadly amplified the two sentences he devoted to the officiating in a 10 minute press conference, in which he repeatedly recognised Ireland's superiority.

You need to play one openside. The whole problem with the Wallabies in 2016 is how unbalanced the side has been.

Hoopers defense was poor, 3 or 4 missed tackles from your undrobable openside is not good enough.

13 to 3 in the penalty count. That's absurd. It's really unbelievable. The disallowed try was also harsh. The French ref in the English game was just as bad. England could do Nothing wrong after the red card.

Not especially bad, but still supposedly serious enough for action to be taken, once the head is involved.
