Fairly sure I saw Cam Clark at fullback for the Schools team against NZ last year. Not much to him but he showed plenty of guts.

But I believe he was 'parachuted' into that team. He was injured for most of the "normal" schools' season and didn't play in the Australian Schools' Championships.

Right Elfster and also right speckie. Moses was thinking about the first test of the Schools programme v. England when Craig Hunt of Nudgee was the fullback. Hunt wasn't in the A team nor the test team for the series against NZ later on, so I suspect he was injured and Clark, then healthy, slotted in.

Yeah he played well enough didn't he, though he wouldn't have minded getting the intercepted pass back: it was for the Kiwis' only try.

No, there's not much to him but, not to worry: dad is making up for him these days.
BTW my spelling of 'parachuted' looks quite ordinary.
Looks OK to me; a lucky guess?

I would've thought with Cam in the squad, dad would've pressed Foxsports harder to show Day 1.

Australia 14 v Canada 12
Asutralia 10 v France 10
Off to the bowl 1/4s vs Japan on day 2.

Not a good day and really struggled to score points. Anyway tomorrow is another day.

Australia missed a sitter of a conversion barely to the right of posts after the second try...France made a field goal to tie before half time and then no more scoring in second half...
Had seen the stats of the squad before the tourney and noticed that there was only Lewis Holland with any kicking experience, and Australia has paid for it dearly. (Holland didn't play in the France game or did he have a haircut?)

Surely we have learned the first rule of Sevens by now? Always, but always, have somebody on the field who can convert most of your tries. An unconverted try is often worth nothing in a tight game. The extra two points wins many, many, games.

Watching the bowl final Aus v Kenya rematch.

The catching and passing from the aussies is beyond woeful - especially from the base of the ruck. They should really think about bringing a running halfback into the squad. This Yakapo guy isnt much chop.

Sean McMahon looks the goods, I think he will super rugby one day as a 6 maybe.

Can someone explain to me why we persist in competing in this joke of a tournament ?? Anyone got an idea on how much it's costs to run the Sevens campaign each year?? Surely this money could be better spent at the grassroots level rather than sending a pack of 18 year old in shit colored jerseys around the world ....

This made me laugh, bit I disagree I dont think we invest enough in this format. However that money must be generate by the 7s side. It must be new revenue, not current revenue being diverted from an existing program.

We need more contracted 7s specialists. Times have changed we can't use it for developing 15s players, otherwise we'll never bring home the decent silverware (or Olympic medal)

Pretty ordinary footy in the replayed Kenya game today, physically the guys seemed outgunned, not to mention how they were burnt by pace.
