I remember seeing Rasolea playing in the centers for Churchie two years ago.

Con Foley and Jordie Tupou have been playing premier grade for their respective clubs in Brisbane. I have a feeling Jordie will be great at 7's, he has the perfect dynasism for it.

Damon Anderson has been electric in the Shute Sheild. Looking forward too seeing him get a chance at something greater.

Is the Sean McMahon in this team the same one that played No.8 for OZ Schools this year against NZ. if so a great achievement for an 18 year old

Lot's of debutants alright but I guess that goes with the youth and development policy. Seems light on for forwards?

Who is Danny Routledge, I think I've heard of the others?

Danny Routledge was playing premier rugby for Sunnybank during 2010. I'm not sure if he missed this season with injury or was playing elsewhere. He normally plays fullback and has decent speed and and acceleration. He is only a fairly small guy though but I think he will be OK at this level.

sad to see hamish angus not there for the gold coast 7's, he had a cracker last season.

shannon walker seems to be missing but his profile is up with the new jersey on the 7's website, so he must be injured.

anyone know whats happened with clinton sillls and denan kemp?

He's still in camp with the team though. Looks like he has been taking part in most training so may get taken to Dubai for next week.

Routledge is still at Sunnybank. I can't recall what injury he had this year but missed most of the season. Has played everywhere from 9-15 over the past couple of years and would suit 7's. Played every second in Samoa recently.

Foley is a quality player who deserves a shot at this level.

Rasolea player Fiji 20's this year. Was outstanding for Uni in Prem Colts last year.

Was reading a write up about Sean McMahon in the local rag this morning. Pretty impressive for him to be playing this week while his mates are all at schoolies!

Sounds very much like Pat Cummins in cricket. 'I'll save Australia, you blokes can piss it up'.

Hey BJ, do you know whats happened to Ed Stubbs?

I was under the impression he took leave from the Brumbies squad to be part of the 7s setup full time?

After watching him tear it up for Vikings he had the potential to be a great 13, or hard running 12.

Ed Stubbs out, Damon Anderson in. Straight swap of Cranbrook boys - it's not often you see that.

Lindsay Crook I saw during his years at TSS. Was Aus Schools in 2010 playing on the wing from memory. Lightning quick but also very solid, didn't seem to possess much of a kicking game. Part of the QLD National Academy but not 100% sure what he's been up to the past year.

Solomoni 'Junior' Rosolea is in the same boat, saw him during his days at insider centre and fly-half for Churchie. Typical centre mould, crash ball specialist and solid defender. Didn't make Aus Schools but heard through the grapevine that he's been playing well recently. Never seen him play sevens but he has a good burst of speed and a solid kicking game to match.

Sean McMahon finished year 12 this year and was part of the Aus schools team. Was just reading what LG has to say about the bloke and apparently he will become the youngest ever player to play for Oz Sevens, at just 17. Played as a number 8 during his school days for Nudgee College and held that position through to Aus Schools without being moved. Not your typical 8 however, always thought he was a 6 from his early days at Nudgee due to his work rate.

Have watched a few of these youngsters over the years and genuinely wish them well. I'll be there on Saturday, cheering loudly. Young side, so if they make the quarters that will do me.

Whilst wishing all the players well I really hope Jordie Tuapou kills it. A very good footballer who captained OZ schools, the bloke has all the skills but is apparently too small to be a forward in the big show. Sevens just may be the stage for him to shine.
