Beginning to agree with many on here that perhaps Sydney has too many teams.

Perhaps western Sydney (including inner western Sydney) best represented by RAMS ie have Uni included in RAMS fold (ignoring politics for one moment) and Rams play 1-2 matches at leichardt or concord oval, one down South and 1-2 out west past parramatta

Need to have competitive Western Sydney Side that has good fan base aligned to strong clubs - Western Sydney important battle ground for Sydney which already struggling at Shute Shield level with Penrith and Parramatta the whipping boys due to lack of appropriate support.

At this stage of competition perhaps therefore we have 8 teams (uni joins Rams consortium)

Maybe even North and South, with Eastwood and Parramatta joining the NH Rays and all others in South. But whatever changes are made, I believe they will have to be initiated by the clubs themselves perhaps under some direction from the ARU/Foxtel. It is meant to be a bottom up approach rather than top down. However, I am not confident the SS clubs could act with the required level of cooperation to bring about major change.

I agree that ARU/Foxtel best to give direction - but of course clubs have to sign on etc.....as believe ARU better to facilitate than SS clubs as too many factions and need a voice of reason acting in interests of promoting and growing Australian rugby as game is more than interests of Uni, Easts, Randwick, Eastwood etc etc...

Need to make sure creating competitive and sustainable competition that develops players, grows the market (for rugby) and in particularly in key growth / under-represented players (Western Sydney in particular which includes inner West and Greater Western Sydney)

Country Eagles also important to grow /promote the game in regional NSW so need to ensure they have the right support.

I agree but I'm sure that is a lot of guffawing and derisive laughter I hear coming down the highway from the direction of Sydney.:)

Interesting I see they made the game times of sat games at different times - so not overlapping each other....smart move....

Good to see Havili get a nod, Reg. Thought Ian Prior was bloody good. I'm a Greene fan too.

May I suggest, if HJ does a BBcode version on this forum, that it be cross-posted on your TWF thread? Not the whole article (just the couple of relevant players with a link to the blog) as a way of talking about the writing.

There'd be a bit of interest and it would be an easy and legitimate bump for that advertisement to gain more eyeballs for a few more weeks.

Travelling interstate so only got to see the predicted massacre that was the Vikings v Stars. Didn't want to see any credit given to the Stars for their Canberra capitulation, even if by accident of "details".:)

Hard to say if so many Vikings deserve a gig in the TOTW because they were so good, or was it because the Stars were sooooo bad.

How did Kyle Godwin go for the Spirit at 12? Didn't see the game, but he bagged a meat pie, and must have distributed quite well, as there were 4 tries scored outside him as well. Enough for TOTW?

Godwin did well. He set up one of Havili's tries (returing the favour a few minutes after Havili had passed for Kyle's meat pie).

Had a good long breakout run with a grubber ahead (love 'em/hate 'em) that was picked up by one of his wingers as well.

Spirit had a happy hunting ground attacking down their left flank all night. Busted plenty of holes in Country's RHS defence.

Laloifi must have sealed that Reds Contract by now with yet another blinder over the weekend - doesn't look out of place in that star studded Reds - I mean - BRC backline

Without a shadow of doubt, HJ, the Vikings were just very ordinary and don't deserve any credit at all for the "massacre". ;)

I think I'd be closer to the truth of the matter to say that the Vikings would beat any team of the week put together from all other sides on their form against the Stars. And how Lealiifano could miss out on TOTW is a mystery. He played to the standard required to play for the Wallabies, again.
