Must be twats at South African rugby too - that's how they list the teams on their fixture.

Uhm, for interest sake, where?

Let's not start on the accuracy of the Fox sports website and Fox sports news.

I could write a book...they tend to be very sloppy.

PS If you are referring to SARU, they are twats, but no prizes for seeing that.

Well, to be fair to FoxSports Australia....

sarugby.com lists Western Province, but also have the Cheetahs and Sharks playing this weekend
http://www.sarugby.com/news/Fixtures/mode=fixtures/catid=4.html

The official SA rugby site, sarugby.co.za lists the teams as the 'Vodacom Free State Cheetahs' and the 'Sharks'
http://www.sarugby.co.za/tournament...id=767&vidcatid=6&section=curriecup&year=2010

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I thought the Sharks were known as Natal and the Cheetahs known as Free State in the Currie Cup..

Yes I think you're right but its technical and I guess fans and the media have used names interchangeably.

Super 14:

Stormers
Sharks
Cheetahs

Currie Cup:
Western Province
Natal Sharks or Natal - not just Sharks - separate legal entity
Free State Cheetahs, but not just Cheetahs

These are also the traditional names ie WP, Natal, Free State

I guess the latter two are easily confused.

Is there also a distinction between the "Blue Bulls" who contest the Currie Cup and the "Bulls" who play in Super Rugby?

Kafer is probably the only one on there with anything interesting to say and I do wish he'd get into some coaching...

If he got in to coaching again, he'd actually have to do something and be responsible for his analysis and actions. Whereas currently he can just stand there, state the bleedin' obvious and have a heap of folk thinking he is a coaching and analysis messiah.

How successful was his previous coaching stint?

Kafer's analysis seems to finish with chuck it wide and stand wider for the backs, and for the forwards to get in there and push.

I wait eagerly in anticipation for your weekly rugby analysis on the blog...

Difference being that I have never made any claim to be an analyst, I do not go on TV as an analyst, I dont get paid to provide analysis.

Kafe tailors his output to his audience, just like any good scribe will. It is no use in providing an very indepth analysis to an audience unprepared for that level. The message will not be received. The level of insight he provides suits perfectly the majority of armchair fans who have had little involvement in the game away from the tele. Be happy that we at least have a program with segments like this. I remember the time when we were lucky to get the tests broadcast (admittedly it was before Pay TV was around in Oz), programs like this will in the long run enhance the Rugby following as more people come to understand the basics of our game.

The way I understand it, the Blue Bulls is part of the Union of the same name, and the Bulls playing in Super Rugby is a separate commercial entity.

Maybe someone in SA can explain the actual commercial shareholding between the Unions and the Super Franchises?

I watched a recording of the Rugby Club last night and found a way to make it far less annoying. Everytime Jeremy Paul opens his mouth I hit the fast forward button. It actually made the show better.

PS: I like Nick McArdle. I think he does a good job.

An Open Letter To Fox Sports:

Get rid of the clown. He is not funny. A panelist really does not need to drop a clever dick line after everything every other person says.

Jaysus I can't stand the fucker. Piss off.

I 2nd that, he's a knob I don't even bother to watch the Rugby Club anymore.

It is a very simple job to be the "leader of the opposition" as it were, analysing the video and preparing for Kafe's LCDboards after the event with 20/20 hindsight.

The level of most countries Rugby Commentators is pretty ordinary at the moment.

I do so miss the doyen of all Rugby Commentators Bill McLaren from Scotland. Impartial, Informed, Interesting and Prepared.
Bill could make watching grass growing sound exciting.
