I found it cringeworthy when he explained how he couldn't fight, but liked having Toutai Kefu behind him when he gobbed off at people. Pity Kefu didn't belt him in the head instead.
Didn't he get dropped from the Wobs for being a bad for the team environment?
Still give credit to the man, he was a terrific player.
Yet, he's still better than Phil Kearns...
Uh oh...
I suspect they do actually realise this, and are trying to get more viewers for the Currie Cup by pointing out the familiarity of the teams to Oz viewers.Hahah. I saw that. They did trhe same last year. Shows the ignorance of Foxsports. It's Western Province, Natal and Free State you twats.
Spot on Blue. Kearns is exactly what it says on the packet. He has a good sense of humour and does seem a genuinely good bloke.Disagree about Kearns. He has toned it down a lot this year, May not be the world's biggest rugby genius but he wears his hearst on his sleeve and you'll find it hard finding a more decent bloke.
Gagger would be a good additionWho would people rate as real analysts they'd like to see more of on a show?
Kearns may not be the most insiteful guy (despite his comments about Deans not being on the field as we get blown away in the last 20 minutes), but to me he and Martin are there for colour and their passions, the analysis is Kafer's job.
So you're saying a good player can come on TV and act like a spoilt child?
Seriously, a Gagger, or an Austin, or a Lee G or a Lance F, would be a massive improvement on this program. I could also see fp or cyclopath there!
Does anyone reckon they should get someone on there who is 'on the ground' more. I know Marto, Kearns, Kafer, Cannon commentate, but they're not with these teams week to week. Someone like Ian Payten would be at Tahs and Wallabies training everyday, goes on tour with the teams, and could provide an informed insight rather than one from arm's length. It pisses me off no end when those blokes talk about how some people get on, don't get on, how they train, what their attitude is, etc, when you know they are hearing it second or third hand.
Just a thought...
